adnat - we disagree, let's leave it at that.
I don't need to persuade you or anyone.
have a good day.

At the end of the day Adnatrob is as entitled to his views as any of us. We may not agree with them but at least they occasionally make us think - it would be a sad thread if all we ever got were positives. As I have said before if you disagree with somebody's views then simply ignore them and move on,life's too short.Peas

Johnspain,

I suggest also, that you go and check the amount of working capital allocated to the briquetting project and the forecasted revenue/profit for 2013 and 2014. You might be disappointed.

ADNATROB - all you want to be just negative... there is share been issued to WET at discount that can be sold for cash in open market

I heard that the directors eat babies and that if you buy shares in the company you get piles and your hair falls out. Sorry - just thought I would join in the deramping.

johnspain - I agree with you that this is a good buy. Selling a chunk of their interest in the AMD was a good move as they obviously wouldn't have been allowed to move forward as a foreign company. End result appears to be that they got money for a new project which could be producing cash flow fairly soon, and still have a big interest in the AMD project which has to move forward at some point. I don't see how they could have made a better deal tbh

adnat -
I disagree.
the cash positions of both companies are easy to work out from public statements.
why work on supposition? go and check the numbers.

Adnatrob, I completely understand where you are coming from,it;s just that - at least for today in any case - I feel a bit more positive about the future and if they are continuing to investigate other opportunities there is really not much more Jaco could have said at this stage. As it has on many occasions in the past sentiment can turn on a sixpence and this time next week i will be ranting and raving about something they have or haven't done and the share price will be down to.08p.As JS correctly states there are a lot of positives but also some negatives. For me today is a positive day but lets see what next week brings.Good fortune to you. Johnspain,

I would like to see the current cash position of both WET and MRI.

WET have no longer got the cash they expected from the sale to MRI and the fact that MRI can't pay it, suggests to me they too are short of cash.

Peas,

Until we see something positive, they are just words. I could tell you the same story and not be held accountable.

well,
I HAVE researched over a long time.
I know the positives and (few) negatives.

wet (old one) spent a long time and a lot of money on a solution to the south african amd problem. unfortunately the incompetence and corruption of the SA government has continuously delayed and frustrated wet's attempts to implement this.
subsequently, the mri/coal briquetting project has occured to ensure company survival and to generate positive cashflows. the coal briquetting alone is a good business with significant upside and growth potential. it alone with just one site warrants more than curent wet share price
add in the fact that they have cash, so no dilution needed, can expand the briqueting project to other sites /mines and they are still in the picture for the huge amd deals and are looking for other opportunities.

this IS a very good buy at this price whatever the numpties try to tell you.

ADNATROB, I guess it's a matter of glass half full or half empty. I agree it's not the most encouraging statement ever issued but it does confirm that they continue to look for other opportunities - at least it's better than being told they are resting on their laurels and betting everything on AMD and briquetting.Peas

Ad,
Perhaps you should tell those who have taken shares at a premium to the minimum placing price of R0.19, that the business case is not so strong. They clearly disagree with you.

Peas - that sounds very positive, when i emailed them last time about AMD they also told me that they do not want to depend only to AMD and they want a new project which can add more value to shareholders.

Interesting days ahead

Judging by your posts, it appears that you have done very little research on this company.

AD, Jaco emailed me on 27th July and said...."We are continuing to look at other opportunities for WET but have not found anything suitable/substantial at this stage. Until we do, the shares are likely to continue to trade at a discount. Once we have found a project, and once we have spent the time to do a proper due diligence on the project to ensure that we offer projects to our shareholders that have a high probability of succeeding, we will make the necessary announcements".
I appreciate it's not much to go on but at least it confirms they are still looking for further opportunities.Peas

ADNATROB - Wait for the half year results...

Weather mri place the stock or not that does not harm WET as we are getting the stock at discount plus immune from the loss

Yesterday's RNS

The fact that needs answering is why have MRI failed again to place the stock with investors?

It suggests to me that the business case is not attractive to investors.

Regarding WET, we still have no indication on future strategy.

Half year report was announced on 7 Sep last year so we are due to it... i guess it should be next week.

If they are expecting some other news to put on the report that can come little later... hopefully some good update about AMD project
