They seem to be executing on their strategic plans and getting the results. Is it enough to spur the share price onto the next level? Guess we'll be finding out in 15 and in the coming weeks

Looks very solid on a first read.

Net off the latest disposal proceeds and net debt is reduced to near £20 Million.

The balance sheet has been transformed over the last 2 years.

Would hope so. The big reduction in net debt, coupled with strong cash
generation may bode well imv.

A little PI panic setting in. Getting close to "top up" territory for me?

From memory threre was an approx 60 pence fall shortly before
the last update, which was rapidly reversed, then whoosh higher.

I guess that might be part of it. From my limited TA skills, I could have seen an argument that the price was consolidating around £10 readying for a move higher. The short-term failure of that signal might be leading to some 'hot-money' getting taken off the table here and exacerbating the fall, but that is pure speculation.

Why anyone who was holding this morning would now sell ahead of the results is a loss to me though. Still, that's what makes a market and might allow for a cheaper top-up price if the results (and outlook) are good.

Agreed. The chart worries me a little though as the price appears to have broken downwards. Let's see how it closes today.

Hi Essential.

I think it will be interesting to see if the results reveal any reason ... the last trading statement was 'slightly ahead of expectations' and there have been two disposals which looked sensible to me, not least because they reduce gearing.

Not feeling too worried about the market fluctuations in the meanwhile, so roll on the results and then let's see where we are...

Disposal "expected to improve Group margins and ROCE and to be neutral to FY 2017 adjusted earnings per share. The net cash proceeds of $32.0 million (£24.2 million) will be used to reduce the Group's net indebtedness."

Sounds good to me.

"Vitec received the attached notice in accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules that Alantra Asset Management, SGIIC, S.A. has a notifiable interest in the voting rights of 6,314,763 ordinary shares of 20p each in Vitec, representing 14.11% of Vitec's issued ordinary share capital. "

Seems to have spurred things on......

FX a possible headwind imv, otherwise really like VTC as
mentioned a number of times.

In today's update GBP/USD was taken at 1.26 average. Cable already nudging 1.30,
heading at least to 1.35 + imv.

Would also expect GBP to strengthen significantly against EURO over the rest
of 2017 - just my own view only.

Hi EI,

I just found out that the Chairman is John McDonough, former CEO of Carillion.
I have met him a few times and spoken at length. It was going great guns whilst he was there, and I rate him very highly.
Further in-depth research needed, but so far I like what I see.
Point taken on FCF.

Markets have been strong of late and some sort of pull back may well be on the cards. The key is to get the ducks lined up for then.

Hi red, it's FCF I tend to focus on.

In terms of pre tax, VTC attempted to develop a new market in defence
applications, that did not work as hoped, it also distracted focus
from the core business imv. The strength of GBP (until recently) also had
some impact.

My take is we may need one more upbeat TS and then a nice re-rating,
wider markets allowing, no guarantees as always.

Would hope the share price will come back a little before then.

EI

Looking at the 5 year summary to 2015, T/o & Pbt have more or less flat lined. That is the bit I don't get. The share price has meandered around £6 - £7 in that time, with a few notable exceptions.
I like the look of the presentations and their equipment, but can we take it that 2016 was their transformational year?

Agreed, it may well come back in the coming days when the euphoria dies down.
