Board Change and Grant of Options



The Board of Vocalis Group plc, the international speech technology group, is
pleased to announce the appointment, on 1 January 2002, of Mr Paul Wright,
formerly the Group's Chief Operating Officer, as Chief Executive Officer.



The Board also announces that, as described in the prospectus to shareholders
dated 28 November 2001 ("the Prospectus"), the following options were granted
on 1 January 2002:



*          options over 500,000 Ordinary Shares to Paul Wright;

*          options over 200,000 Ordinary Shares to Minesh Patel.



These options were granted under the unapproved Vocalis Group plc 1996 (No. 2)
Share Option Scheme, are exercisable between 1 January 2005 and 1 January 2009
and have an exercise price of 6.5p per share.



As also described in the Prospectus, options over 2,300,000 Ordinary Shares to
various other employees of the Group have also been granted with an exercise
price of 6.5p per share.
