You have been ploughing a lone furrow for many years Piedro

Your hard work has not gone unnoticed

Welcome to the SBS fold

My take is that with SBS using VDN storage facilities in the USA , and Ireland to sell SBS Life Sciences products , antibodies/clones/re-agents from their unique GenomeCube platform which is being rolled out worldwide using different language versions .... Japanese and Korean plus English thus far
www.sourcebioscience.com/our-portfolio/distributors.aspx

Also SBS have been expanding their DNA sequencing services at a pace , profits up circa 50% from this year on year .... they can now do the same from the two USA VDN bases and thus tap into the BIGGEST Pharma Biotech CRO area in the WORLD.

Plus cross selling opportunities to each others Client Lists means the 'Collective' after assimilation should be more than the sum of each of the individuals within 12 months.

Vindon will be the 5th SBS acquisition ..... Turnover for the first 6 months announced next month should be UP 30%. They are going places ..... check out the recent Institutional holdings taken in the company in the last 12 to 18 months. Some BIG names have bought in

Source BioScience makes a strong start to the year

12 June 2013 | 14:47pm

StockMarketWire.com - Source BioScience, which reported further growth and increased profitability in 2012, has made a good start to this year.

Laurie Turnbull, chairman, told today's AGM: "Demand from the NHS for our diagnostic services continues to be strong and year to date revenue has increased by over 35% compared with the same period last year.

"We remain one of only a small number of accredited laboratories in Europe with access to the technologies and expertise required to deliver complex gene-based diagnostic testing for cancer and other diseases, which affords us commercial advantage."

Mr Turnbull also commented that the company enjoyed a leading position in the UK for the provision of DNA sequencing services and remain the only company offering a UK-based sequencing service.

He added: "This part of our business will be boosted by the expansion of our service into Scotland, enabling us to offer our overnight service for DNA sequencing to the local research community.

Hope this sits well Bro

Vindon Healthcare diversifies to support start-ups
Last updated: 2nd Apr 2013 at 09:07am
....
Ferguson told Insider the company had already started working with the University of Manchester and institutions in Leeds and Bristol.
"We are looking at setting up an incubator unit in the UK and using our knowledge to cultivate and nurture fledgling businesses such as university spin outs," he said.
"We recently appointed somebody internally to do that job specifically and have already got two or three interesting opportunities.
"It's a simple fact that many biotech businesses come from universities and we feel we're in as good a position as anybody to invest in these sort of organisations, and for them to see us as a worthwhile investor. ...
"But we're not just investing money, we're investing knowledge as well."

Slight tick down this morning. Over the past two and a half weeks there have been 514,000 shares traded - 144k Buys (28%) & 370K Sells (72%).

No news during June either. Dealit - are you still holding these ?

This share is still on my Watchlist but I haven't yet decided to invest.

NB: The other so-called 'serious investors bb' seems to be completely dead - no posts at all over the past month

I have created a new bb for serious investors.

Still 'under construction' but walker10 found it.

i was very encouraged by the results, which supported my rationale for buying in just before them. Good revenue visibility here, solid cashflow, one to tuck away for the Long term imho. I expect that there will be positive write-ups in private investor magazines after today's site visit & the numbers

dealit & Piedro would be interested to know if you have spotted any other small companies out there with similar attactive characteristics to Vindon? Clearly a lot of companies seeing tough trading conditions. I recently bought into DRV on the basis that contract dispute resolution services to the construction industry is likely a booming area.

Kingsway move will boost healthcare company profits
Date published: 08/09/2008
An Oldham based healthcare company is expecting to increase profits by nearly 50% by the end of next year when it moves to an enlarged premises at Rochdale's Kingsway Business Park.
Vindon Healthcare hopes the larger storage space at Kingsway will enable the company to branch out into other areas.
The company are known for their controlled-temperature drug storage facilities but the space at the new site means they could expand to provide to store things such as old rare film stocks or even stem cells in their controlled-temperature environments.
Vindon's house broker, WH Ireland have forecast a turnover of £5.88million for this year, giving a pre tax profit of £1.69million, with a £2million profit expected next year.
In a note to investors WH Ireland said: "The new Kingsway facility provides ample capacity for growth in manufacturing and on-site stability storage. Importantly, it gives the space to accept a wider range of materials for storage under highly controlled conditions, giving the potential to deliver growth rates higher than those currently presented in our forecast."
The new Kingsway site will double Vindon's manufacturing potential and allow them to offer a wider range of services to their existing clients.
