Charles Stanley & Co Ltd is forcasting (04-11-05) £11.21m PBT, 16.80p EPS and 4.8p DPS for 2006. At mid price 192.5p, VTS is trading on PE 11.5, 2.5% div. yield. It looks cheap to me. But the chart points to possible further fall. One issue is, as some body already pointed out in an early post, share dilution due to acqisition and, to lesser extend, further listing.

Space it was an X trade, thus defined:
X' Cross at the Same Price
A transaction was effected as an agency cross or a riskless principal transaction at the same price and on the same terms (this requires one trade report).

A sizeable volume today - any ideas who's disposed of the 300K+ chunk? VEry impressive that it made no immediate upon what now seems to be a firmly established share price

Good man chester. I said you wouldn't regret your purchase at 172p!

Surely this will drift a little for the next couple of months?

Everything going to plan then. Should see share price building again from here.

Looks as though we have tested both ends of a possible new trading range, and if there is nothing untoward from the AGM, we can prepare for another move up in the autumn. Nice intra-day reversal anyway.

I suppose it all boils down to how well we feel that we know the Company - am I feeling lucky punk (to quote the words of the great Mayor of Carmel)?

Nervous selling ahead of results presented a great buying opportunity. More of the same?

space,
Recently experienced a similar situation with 600 Group.
Just before its AGM the price suddenly started falling - from 55p to 46p.
This was accompanied by quite a few sells.
The AGM statement proved somewhat reassuring and the price recovered back to 55p within a few days.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Although we continue to trickle downwards, it's good to see that it's nothing like as dramatic as yesterday - let's hope we've almost bottomed.

Noticed a few "growth" shares being marked down today e.g. SMC, so don't think it's anything company specific. However, is it a general change in market direction?

Any ideas why the share price is retracing right now - it seens to have held so firm for a while?

It was inevitable at some point but very happy to keep mine. I want the vast majority of my portfolio in quality stocks and this is one.

Was on verge of selling on Friday when bid dropped to 195p (after previously stating that I believe this to be a long term hold). Thank goodness I didn't!
