Lots of accumulation happening. Maybe Azvalor but probably more likely to be Samuel Dossou. He now owns nearly 18 percent. Smart operator although he is getting on a bit. Wonder if he is looking for a takeover or will just ride the shares up?
Tullow Oil Confirms Capricorn Merger Won't Proceed Oct. 28, 2022 at 12:33 p.m. ET By Kyle Morris Tullow Oil PLC confirmed Friday that the proposed combination with Capricorn Energy PLC won't proceed, and that it has been freed from its obligations under the takeover panel code. In June, Capricorn agreed to merge with Africa-focused oil producer Tullow Oil in an all-share deal that valued the combined group at 1.42 billion pounds ($1.64 billion) at the time. However, subsequently on Sept. 29 Capricorn said it had withdrawn its recommendation for the merger after warning on the impact that external factors and current market conditions could have on the deal. Also on Sept. 29, Tullow Oil said it had decided against raising its offer for the agreed merger with Capricorn. Write to Kyle Morris at kyle.morris@dowjones.com
Thanks for all the info XX The following was posted on LSE IR Response below. Q The company is still issuing the disclosure RNS, does this insinuate that the merger is not completely dead out of the water? A. We have made it clear that we do not intend to increase our offer. However, we remain subject to the principles of the Takeover Code (LINK) and the series of Rules contain therein. The Code will be required to continue until long stop date (1 March 2023) passes or the Capricorn transaction with NewMed completes. Just a thought Wondering if Ghana can pay for the Gas? Tullow have a tax dispute and if it goes against them perhaps they could pay with Gas.
At these corrupt MEGA LOW share price manipulated prices it's ripe to rip off shareholders with a mega low takeover. Rauls mates wants it for around 35p. RESIGN!
City tradees say takeover on tlw before xmas shake out holders 5 times undervalued but probably go at 2.5 times
The share price never went up when the merger was announced, nor has the share price gone up with a mega increase in oil, nor when other alleged good news was announced; so, how the hell can the share price be crashed back down ? Corrupt share price manipulation as you like IMHO. The share price was simply manipulated back down for an agenda. I now see Raul and his master plan falling into place, something I have raised concerns over since he arrived. PMO all over again IMHO. I see a reverse takeover here or at least the crappiest take over from another company you can imagine whilst Raul fills his pockets. Raul needs to be sacked after yet another disaster, what is this guy doing? He simply don't have a clue, he could not manage a petrol station never mind our company. Resign you inept idiot!
FT Lex article above a bit flakey (as is the FT these days); e.g "Oil exploration and production companies were once valued more highly for finding hydrocarbons than extracting them. No longer. Tullow’s proposed takeover of UK-listed peer Capricorn has inspired little enthusiasm." Since TLW & CNE are both 95% pure production companies with minimal exploration the opening paragraph falls flat on its feet. But it does suggest TLW perhaps need to update their communications strategy as the message of TLW's new direction doesn't seem to be getting through?
INVESTORSCHRONICLE Tullow target Capricorn Energy looking at alternative bidders Cash-rich takeover target said despite the directors backing the merger with Tullow Oil, the board is exploring alternative transactions September 6, 2022 By Alex Hamer Shareholder anger over Tullow Oil merger has been significant Capricorn boss Simon Thompson said original deal still stood but other options being explored Capricorn Energy (CNE) is talking to other suitors despite still backing the merger arranagement with Tullow Oil (TLW) that would see its hefty cash holdings used to cover the larger company's sizeable debt pile.
How can they get away with this share price manipulation on a daily basis, it's criminal. The share price hardly ever went up with oil but crashed back down as soon as oil falls back. Wonder why Raul is dragging this takeover out? Obvious, gives him more time for the markets to change to enable his mates get hold of TLW assets on the cheap IMHO. If that's the case, then VOTE A BIG FAT NO TO THIS RIP OFF DEAL! Again we see TLW is the runt of the litter and shows the biggest falls. (Always registers the lowest rises when oil goes up) MORE TO THE POINT! OIL IS MEGA CHEAP SO, Why are fuel prices at the pumps????????????????????? Another government rip off!
