it seems that oil still has an impact on the oil and gas majors than natural gas

The stock continues in the green with a positive new analysis from UBS. The consulting firm confirms its buying advice on the action, as well as its 12-month target price of 62.5 euros with a potential upside of more than 25%.

The analysts exchanged with Jean-Pierre Sbraire, deputy financial director of the French oil 'major'. In particular, there was talk of strategy, as Total organized the rotation of more than 25% of its asset portfolio over the last three years, and increased its reserves at a good price. In doing so, the group has built a competitive asset base, "says UBS. In addition, Total's projected increase in production, which is + 5% per annum on average until 2022, is higher than that of other majors.

Another key element: LNG, the 'important contributor to growth' and segment on which Total has grown to the 2nd largest international majors (excluding state oil companies) after the acquisition realized with Engie. This sector should also be dynamic.

Total SA (FP.FR), Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Oil Search Ltd. (OSH.AU) have signed a memorandum of understanding with Papua New Guinea regarding the terms of a liquefied-natural-gas agreement, the French oil major said Friday.

The agreement is expected to be signed by the end of the first quarter of 2019, Total said. The project includes building two LNG trains--liquefaction units--with a capacity of 2.7 million tons per year each at the Exxon Mobil-operated LNG plant in the country.

The three partners have agreed to launch the first phase of the engineering studies, Total said.

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones) - AlphaValue raises its recommendation on Total to "lighten up" to "buy" and its price target of 50.50 euros to 62.20 euros, to take account in particular of "an environment always favorable ", production objectives supported by the successful execution of key projects and the fact that the payment of the dividend in shares is made without discount. In addition, the increase in exploration and production costs remains low, particularly for deep-water activities, analysts said. Even taking into account a rise in costs downstream from 2020, the group has significantly reduced overall costs and this reduced structure seems sustainable, say analysts. The Total share loses 1.2% to 49.60 euros. (adore@agefi.fr) ed: LBO

ABU DHABI--The Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. said Sunday it has signed an agreement to grant French energy giant Total SA (FP.FR) a minority stake in an unconventional gas concession.

As part of the deal, Total will take control of 40% of the Ruwais Diyab Unconventional Gas Concession, including a six-to-seven-year exploration and appraisal period followed by a 40-year production term, Adnoc said.

State-run Adnoc is the largest oil-and-gas producer in the United Arab Emirates.

"Total and Adnoc have agreed on commercial terms that will enable the project to deliver maximum value from our unconventional gas reserves as we work towards achieving gas self-sufficiency for the U.A.E., and transition to having the capacity to become a net gas exporter," Adnoc Chief Executive Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said in a statement.

Adnoc earlier this month announced new discoveries of natural gas that will enable the group to sustain production of liquefied natural gas up to 2040. The new gas discoveries, totaling 15 trillion standard cubic feet, will allow the U.A.E. to become gas self-sufficient and potentially a net exporter of gas, Adnoc said.

Adnoc currently produces roughly 10.5 billion cubic feet of raw gas a day.
