Thermocouple cable cut and sleeve added insulation


Soldered inner and insulated with high temperature Kapton tape.


Outer sleeve soldered in place to seal connection from rain, wind, salt water, typhoons, acid attack etc.

I am back from seeing the Lovely Louise. She is happy my mouth is a lot better but still got some swelling but is progressing well. Should be fine now and will see me 4th June for a check up. Any problem at all I must phone straight away and go back in.
Got to be honest and say Louise is being very caring and reassuring.

Also went and got ,my hair cut afterwards, and went to a cafe, I have not been to before, for lunch. It was OK but nothing special and very expensive.

Not really, just takes me ages to do anything just now. Have been trying to get fridge to stay lit with old thermocouple to no avail. It still worked at end of last summer but time to dive in and put the new one in.... proper Electrolux part, made in Spain and not China.

Bit mixed here but overall sunny. Tried to sort the over pressure drain valve for water system on Motorhome to stop it dripping. Its a sealed unit and will not be easy to take apart and I might break it completely so left alone. A new one costs over 30 quid but fittings are different so will need a new one way valve £14, some pipe and another coupler (£8) so starts to get expensive just for a drip underneath the van.
rubber band over the top to add more pressure - job done I reckon.

What I have done is flushed it all out after soaking with lemon juice, then a solvent rinse to get rid of residues of sealant, then lubricated rubber diaphragm with silicon oil. It may with all the luck in the world now seal.

Next task is replace the fridge thermocouple again with a high quality one which should last 10 years and not 1 year. Proper job this one at great expense...but it can wait as knackered now after doing the valve. Just lack the energy still.
