Pre Close Statement December 2006.
Thomas Walker PLC, the specialist engineering group, is today providing an
update on current trading activities before entering into its closed period
prior to the announcement of its half year results for the six months to 31
December 2006.
The Board is pleased to announce that trading continues to be strong and that
the improved trend in the results seen in the second half of the year ending 30
June 2006 has been maintained.
The Group has now almost completed the rationalisation of its Stamping
subsidiary on to one site. The project is expected to be completed on schedule
and within the financial plan.
The strategy of concentrating efforts in niche areas is proving successful in
protecting both volumes and gross margins in challenging market conditions. This
provides confidence for the future.
