                         Thistle Hotels Plc ("Thistle")

                     DELISTING AND CANCELLATION OF TRADING

On 16 June 2003, Thistle applied for the cancellation of the listing of Thistle
shares on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and for the cancellation
of trading in Thistle shares on the London Stock Exchange's market for listed
securities (the "Cancellations").

The Cancellations have now been approved, and will take effect from the start of
trading on Thursday 17 July 2003.
