RNS Number:6158S Food & Drink Group (The) PLC 18 April 2008 THE FOOD & DRINK GROUP PLC ("FDG" or "the Group") Disposal and Trading Update The Food and Drink Group plc announces that it has completed the disposal of its leasehold bar in Maddox Street, London, for net cash consideration of £0.6m. The disposal proceeds will be used to reduce the Group's net debt and will also result in a profit on disposal of the site in the region of £0.2m. The site made no contribution to profitability last year and it is not expected that the disposal will result in a material change in the profitability of the Company in the current year. The Group has experienced worsening trading conditions over the last two months and whilst performance is anticipated to improve during the historically strong summer trading period, it is expected that performance will be significantly below market expectation for the financial year ending 27 September 2008. 18 April 2008 ENQUIRIES: The Food & Drink Group PLC Tel: 020 7349 4440 Stephen Thomas, Chairman James Kowszun, Chief Executive College Hill Justine Warren Tel: 020 7457 2020 KBC Peel Hunt Matt Goode/Capel Irwin Tel: 020 7418 8900 This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange END MSCSFAEFWSASEFL
