01/3/2007 16:54 | One of those is the entire PHIL holding, the other must be HSBC/HARGREAVES/THOM Since it did n't take the price in any particular direction I would suggest theres another party involved........but who and why,If its one entity then they effectively own the company already. | spekky
01/3/2007 16:41 | 2 big trades equalling half the company? below bid? | spekky
01/3/2007 16:35 | looks like a big trade just happened - is that 27% of the company just gone through ? could be an interesting day tomorrow ! who mentioned takeover speculation... | matt7777
28/2/2007 08:26 | Strange that all the geopolitical stuff is n't affecting FDG, it should, and the volume of sells almost always does, someone bargain hunting again..... | spekky
26/2/2007 08:29 | Cheers Jeff and heres the link for anybody who fancies whetting their appetite,enjoy...... | spekky
24/2/2007 11:22 | Derek Pain has added the stock to his "No Pain, No Gain" portfolio in today's Independent. On a separate tack I'm told Wimbledon 'The' bar is being converted into a HJB. | jeff h
20/2/2007 14:24 | Someone on this BB previously mentioned ULG as being on the aquisition trail and also from a recent RNS; "London Town plc owns a portfolio of 181 leased and tenanted pubs located primarily in England. It is focused on growing the business both organically and via acquisition," Its obvious 2007 will see a lot of M&A activity in this sector,if FDG dont become bigger, pdq,I think it may become prey, but either way its win win. | spekky
20/2/2007 12:19 | I think FDG should get some kind of grip on some of the franchisees before the brand gets associated with something it should n't. Could of course be sour grapes from surrounding pubs. | spekky
20/2/2007 10:28 | The item in the sell column (7688) is actually a buy from early doors. Now thats a good punt,£18k buy would suggest someone with a sniff of something but who knows.? EDIT.......and another 5000 delayed from earlier, news soon I hope (but I always say that) | spekky

16/2/2007 12:34 | My main holdings are TAN,IMG,HBOS,FDG.All doing ok but I agree FDG need to pull a rabbit out of the hat soon, they're a safe bet but a bit slow to get the HJB brand going. There was a lot of paper talk last weekend about mergers/takeovers in this sector so it might get interesting before too long (fingers crossed). | spekky
16/2/2007 11:04 | Vern I'm changing my aproach to this game food & drink are slow & think they are at the top range now. if decided to change strategy i'm going in to explorations they have more fluctuations. 13/2/2007 12:48 | The co. report came this a.m. and is an encouraging read.Nothing new really but resolution No.9 (for the AGM 14/3/07) seeks approval for a potential share buy- back of up to 5% of the share capital. An interesting strategy, especially if you're enclined to believe they've already started and it just needs the rubber stamp on the 14th. Whilst its generally assumed to be a good thing,it could also be a device to ensure that the EPS rises in accordance with the prerequisites for locking in their share option grants, yes I can be cynical at times......... | spekky
13/2/2007 11:22 | Strange that the share price hasn't taken a dip yet, wonder if the background buyer is back again.........you might get 220 this week Vern. | spekky
13/2/2007 07:45 | vern im still waiting on the side lines | vfleetsons@aol.com

06/2/2007 08:18 | Vern Its down to which comes first, the next RNS or 220,given the relative frequency of news I'm not sure you'll get 220 but good luck with your strategy. | spekky |
