28/6/2014 09:14 | The Numis forecasts include potential special dividends, which are highly likely to be declared due to anticipated surplus capital - but of course not guaranteed. | m1das_touch
28/6/2014 08:36 | @scottishfield See post #4 and #12:- (2014 Div should be 6.25p paid Q3 & 12.5p paid early 2015) oniabsta 2 Apr'14 - 19:29 - 4 of 32 0 0 Does anyone else make the prospective divi 18.75p?. About 7.9% yield can that be right? ie £75m/400m shs = 18.75p (1/3 or £25m payout in Q3. 2/3 or £50m payout early 2015 according to prospectus section C7 dividend policy) | eeza

04/6/2014 20:42 | With effect from Monday 23 June, Brit Plc will be admitted to the FTSE250 index, which should lead to further buying by tracker funds, ETFs, mid-cap fund managers etc. | m1das_touch
31/5/2014 14:48 | Like others I usually wait two weeks for the IC bounce [MMs can read] to subside as it usually does before I might follow an IC tip, but I have done well out of some --the 2012 Income Tip of the year was Smiths News [now CNCT] at 76p and late last year they spiked for no logical reason [of which I took advantage] at 250p. So IC can work. Here the yield is the attraction. but the concern is will it be maintained. | bscuit
30/5/2014 17:27 | These were also tipped by Redmayne-Bentley stockbrokers in their Equity Investment sheet yesterday. They reckon they are a buy on their yield and low rating compared to their peers. Canaccord and JPMorgan rate them a buy up to around 255-256p. | jong
28/5/2014 23:38 | Yes to be fair I've laughed at some of IC's tips at times too, especially when they tipped Easyjet as a sell at 744p in December 2012. Just a quick glance at the charts showed me that this was a share in a very strong uptrend...profession As Lord Gnome says, the best way to use any tips is as a source of ideas for personal research. | m1das_touch
28/5/2014 21:21 | Fair points modform. IC is a source of ideas for my own research. I never buy simply because some journalist says so. I have, however, done very well over the years by buying shares that they had suggested, same with Shares Mag although not recently | lord gnome
28/5/2014 20:41 | It's purely based on my own judgement of watching what they have tipped. On a no of occasions I have gone against their recommendations like AZN and BGEO where they kept giving sell recommendations and I kept topping up, and they have been rising stars.I just laughed when they tipped GBO and MONI at their peak.I could go on but if you have done well, it is down to your own research rather than IC tips.cheers. | modform
28/5/2014 14:04 | ditto me, Midas. I have a pal who invests only on the back of IC tips. His tactic is to wait a couple of weeks to see where a tipped share settles and then decides if he wants any. If he likes a share but the tip has moved too far and doesn't look as though it will come back down to a 'sensible level' he leaves it alone and buys something else instead. Plenty of fish in the sea. Sad to say that his investment record is better than mine. | lord gnome
28/5/2014 11:28 | modform - do you have any evidence for that or is it just based on a gut feeling or bad personal experience of following IC share tips? I very rarely buy on the basis of tips from any source, although I often use them as a starting point for my own research. On that basis I've made a number of trades / investments in companies that I first saw tipped in IC and have probably covered my subscription for the next 1,000 years with the profits banked! | m1das_touch
27/5/2014 23:11 | Good luck Lord, IC has very poor record in share tips. | modform |
