20/3/2006 18:33 | Salpara111, I agree, no reason for it to be at this level. It has been on my watch list for sometime, I reckon I will take the plunge tomorrow. | m5
20/3/2006 15:06 | Well I have added to my admittedly small stake today. I view this as a 12 month investment but dont see why I cant take a 100% profit within that timeframe. | salpara111

17/3/2006 18:23 | some reputable city manages have backed this one, obviously they dont get it right all the time, but the co. stratgey seems to be still intact and the current price may offer value, might be worth waiting for revenue confirmation though - any other views? | robert21065
16/3/2006 14:51 | I take it the two trades at 14.45p are buys as mms were paying bang on 14p for sells.....could anyone confirm. | gb679
06/3/2006 13:18 | Nice solid buying today although mainly small trades. We have launch of 5 digit SMS in mid March and results in late March which should give us a boost. | gb679
06/3/2006 08:25 | This share appears over looked. Its seems to offer good growth potential especially in Turkey. They are going to start paying a dividend of about 4.5%. The company keeps on buying back its own shares which shows they must have surplus cash. This will help increase the EPS and DPS. The finals are due on the 30th March so I think that will generate some interest. | 0rb1t
06/3/2006 06:43 | "launch of 5 digit SMS in Turkey in mid-March" so we should get an rns in the next week or two.Doesnt seem to be much buying frenzy here though and this thread is not exactly busy,is this normal for TLU or does it liven up on good news? | gb679
02/3/2006 10:10 | Bought a few with some spare dosh as I like the sector.Lets hope this isnt another "catch a falling knife scenario".Lets hope good results in a few weeks. | gb679
02/3/2006 09:50 | Two buy recommendations in Shares magazine today: "Management at Italian firm TeleUnit is under no illusions about the importance of focusing on VoIP in their business model. TeleUnit has invested significant capital in its IP infrastructure and beefed up its sales, marketing and management teams. Recently it unveiled its new ADSL-based GoVoIP service, which is available nationwide in Italy to home and office users. Chief executive Francesco Cimica says TeleUnit is positioning itself for the expected ramp up in VoIP's popularity. ADSL penetration in Italy is just 20%, suggesting room for more penetration, which will hopefully lead to higher earnings. While TeleUnit isn't a pure VoIP play, its other business operations 5- digit SMS, pre-paid, wholesale, and broadband should encourage the investor." "Italy-based telco Teleunit (TLU:AIM) is rolling out its five-digit SMS technology in Turkey with a view to ramping up revenue and subscriber numbers and pushing the shares higher. Five-digit SMS technology is a user-pays way to access content for mobiles. Through its new Istanbul office, Teleunit will be the first operator to offer fivedigit SMS in Turkey, launching it in mid March. 'Our first-move advantage will allow us to position ourselves as market leaders and therein benefit from the rapid expansion and potential of the mobile content market in Turkey,' says chief executive Francesco Cimica. The news should warm up the mood of discouraged investors who have watched the firm's share price tumble from 28p-plus to today's level around 15p. However, the market will need to see some solid figures out of the Turkish operation before the shares start to regain lost traction. This is a story that Cimica knows well but he was tightlipped when Shares quizzed him about his yearahead view on the price. Meanwhile, Teleunit confirmed its base of active subscribers for its mobile content services had spiked 13% to 300,000 during January." | 0rb1t
20/2/2006 10:42 | Teleunit to expand mobile content operations to Turkey Teleunit S.p.A, the provider of fixed line telephony, wireless broadband, wholesale services, premium access numbers, and mobile content throughout Italy today announces an update of its 5-digit division. As of today, Teleunit is pleased to announce that it has over 300,000 active subscribers that receive Teleunit content on a regular basis. This figure is up from 260,000 as at 23 January 2006, thus representing a 13% increase in the active subscriber base in less than one month. The Board gave final approval for the expansion of Teleunit's mobile content operations to Turkey on 16 February 2006. Teleunit will be operating in Turkey as a limited company under the name of 'Teleunit Iletisim Hizmetleri ve Ticaret Sti' (Teleunit Telecommunications Services and Trading Ltd). All commercial agreements with network operators and content providers are in place, and a new branch office has been established in Istanbul. Teleunit will enter the Turkish market through a comprehensive launch of its services in mid-March at which time the Company will be issuing a joint press release with its local partner when further information will be made available. Francesco Cimica, Chief Executive Officer of Teleunit, said: 'We are very pleased to announce the expansion of Teleunit's 5-digit mobile content services in Turkey. Our first mover advantage will allow us to position ourselves as market leaders and therein benefit from the rapid expansion and potential of the mobile content market in Turkey. We are moreover pleased that Teleunit's entry into the international markets takes place in a country with such attractive commercial opportunities as Turkey.' That explains what they meant by : "the Company has identified several business opportunities which are likely to require significant investment in sales and marketing in 2006 and 2007." in their trading update. This sounds positive and the company is paying a dividend now as well! | 0rb1t
20/2/2006 09:34 | This company may not be a Turkey after all. | maggiori
16/1/2006 16:19 | Nice glitzing up of a profits warning. Again this company fails to deliver! | miamisteve
10/1/2006 18:40 | Flintsurfer, I must confess, having been very bullish on these, that I'm out as well - maybe our combined efforts have conspired to depress the share price!! I guess I'm still bullish but given the lack of activity share price wise I thought it best to look elsewhere. As it turned out, it was the right decision. We seem to be bouncing along the bottom at the moment (18p), so now could be the right time to get in, with a medium to long term view on things. Next results due end March. I will probably stay out for now, unless there is some earlier activity. | xenawarriorprincess
05/1/2006 11:58 | Xena I am out of these at the mo but was thinking about buying back in....are you still bullish and when might we expect any updates?? Thanks in advance | flintsurfer
20/10/2005 12:56 | Rumours in the square mile of a postive update in near future - expect a few buys....... | flintsurfer
09/10/2005 14:53 | Oh well, we seem to be in a bit of a downtrend again. Still optimistic long term tho'. This suggests the TLU may have something of a lead amongst Italian telecoms providers regarding VOIP:- Most competitors are still at trial stage, whereas TLU is already a LeadIP partner. A long way to go however to emulate Skype! This however may not be such good news, a bit difficult to interpret but seems to suggest some sort of new price cap on certain premium rate numbers from 3rd October - TLU specifically mentioned as being affected amongst many others:- That said the real growth sectors at TLU seem to be the calling cards and SMS messaging services. If growth rates at the SMS division keep growing at the 30% previously recorded then we should be getting a fresh update soon that TLU have passed the 200K or 250K subscriber level. TLU was also in last weeks IC rated as fairly priced. Said expansion intonew markets was hampering increased profitability, whilst competition in existing markets remained strong. Don't entirely agree regards the latter point as the premium access unit reported turnover up 92%! Also noted that the WLL technology could be replaced by Wimax - that is the technology that could really turn the incumbents into dinosaurs (may post a link to that later). Also said advertising in first half related to the SMS service was E0.858M, so without that profits would have been well ahead. Broker expects full year profits of E6.5M giving eps of 2.8c. | xenawarriorprincess
25/9/2005 17:13 | Actually the above article (post 191) may be of more relevance to TLU than I originally thought. It refers to H3G's floatation in Italy, and the amazing success of its data rich 3G services especially football highlights and video clips. Now TLU seems to be having some success with its SMS football (and other) related services, 30% growth per month. I'm not sure whether 3G delivers video clips via SMS but TLU's content sells for between E0.5 and E5 so it must be pretty good. The link between TLU and H3G is that TLU's new COO is Ezio Peri who until June was Business Sales Director (at board level) with H3G! H3G seems to be valuing each customer at somewhere between E1,000 and E2,000 - so hopefully some of this value will rub off onto TLU. | xenawarriorprincess
24/9/2005 23:25 | Not directly on TLU, but does relate to the Italian mobile data market. The article also refers specifically to a booming market in football highlights But then we, and TLU, already know it is booming. | xenawarriorprincess
22/9/2005 18:16 | Golden cross on the chart too! | allstar4eva |
