11/8/2010 09:39 | Sample of latest marketing Tanzanite has been a celebrated gemstone amongst high and low. This zoisite mineral of violet shade was discovered in Tanzania itself. It is a mineral variety which comes in crystals flattened in an acicular fashion. The source is to be Merelani Hills in Arusha, Tanzania. As the tawny colored crystals lay scattered on the ground, no one could ever identify the actual gem value of the mineral crystal, until late 20th century. One very fine day as lightening struck those crystals roasting them to an extremely high temperature of 400 degree Celsius. However, the crystals had turned into a never before purple to blue shade. After that, Tiffany promoted this young gemstone as a new member to the club of prized, precious sparkling valuables. Following suit many other big names have been joining the league of promoting yet selling this gemstone jewelry for all kinds of budget holders. It's interesting to note that world's largest tanzanite present weighs 242 Karats. Named as 'Queen of Kilimanjaro' it is actually set in a tiara in Canada. Normally flawless to eyes, tanzanite is strongly pleochroic, i.e. its shows a property of change in color when changes in light sources come in effect. When tanzanite is exposed to artificial incandescence and normal daylight, there is a difference in color display. The above mentioned is key factor playing its major role in clarity of a gemstone. Moreover, amongst the 4Cs, color is the value deciding factor. In the gem industry, in case of colored gemstones, the color decides the price followed by clarity. To enhance the color factor, heat treatment is the most practiced and trusted trend in most of the places. Except some naturally found intense velvety purple varieties found, universally all tanzanite cut are heated. Heat treated ones show a variety of colors, green being the rarest. When salability of tanzanite jewelry comes to mind, leading jewelers come in role. Angara, America's one of online retailers of tanzanite jewelry consisting of exquisite collection of rings, earrings, pendants, bring tanzanite to a great lime light. 06/8/2010 17:32 | Thanks - that's what I was banking on. I decided to add to my previous investments here. Not big amounts for me, but I do think this will be propelled forward at some point. I think we must be getting close to that trigger event, whatever it might be. Boom or bust here in my view! | topvest

06/8/2010 09:28 | I've added a few more. I think this is at the bottom of the trend now. It's either recovery or bust, hopefully the former! At the end of the day, they still own a world class mine and have no debt as such. Clearly changes on cutting, a weak market and the required renewal of their mining licence all weigh on the negative. Quite a good risk reward ratio though given this was £2.50 a share a few years back...what a decline! | topvest
04/8/2010 17:04 | I'm thinking great potential recovery stock. Plenty of experienced posters and lurkers waiting in the wings, perhaps looking for chart confirmation / news before re-entry or additions. Nice quiet time of year to go on selective acquisitions imo. | giant steps

28/7/2010 20:11 | Extract ' Knoxville, TN, July 28, 2010 /PRNewswire/ - Jewelry Television® (JTV), the world's largest retailer of loose gemstones, recently announced the premiere of Tanzanite: The One Generation Gemstone, a documentary-style DVD that explores the history, lore and mining of tanzanite, one of the world's highly sought-after gemstones. Tanzanite: The One Generation Gemstone is part of Jewelry Television's Gemstone Adventure Series collection of DVD documentaries. Discovered in 1967, tanzanite has taken the jewelry and gemstone industries by storm. The beautiful, vibrant blue-purple gemstone has intrigued consumers and captured the interest of jewelry designers across the globe. Tanzanite is unique in that it is found in only one place in the world-a small strip of land in a remote region of East Africa. Rumors of decrease in supply led Jewelry Television's experienced team of gemologists to Arusha, Tanzania in search of the real story. The 45 minute, action-packed documentary explores the people, marketplace and mines of Tanzania while accompanying miners deep into the earth to uncover tanzanite "in the rough." Jewelry Television's team even follows the gemstone all the way to Jaipur, India where the stones are cut, faceted, polished and prepared for market. "Based on our conversations with miners and traders, and personal explorations led us to the conclusion that tanzanite may truly be a gemstone that is available for only one generation," said Jerry Sisk, Graduate Gemologist and Co-Founder of JTV. "JTV is the largest retailer of tanzanite in the world and we wanted to get to the bottom of the supply situation and inform the public. This documentary takes you along with us for the ride," he said. ' | giant steps
