as I wrote previously
I think a more likely outcome will be an uncomfortable alliance with the russkies, though that will certainly come at a heavy price

Goldie, drones and air attacks arent enough, plus you stand a bigger chance of hurting innocents.

Once and for all we have to go in on the ground and finish them off. The western world with the russians, we did it in the second world war we can do it again.

I would very much hope we do NOT see boots on the ground, though properly targeted bombing - drones seem to be the effective modern equivalent - can be quite effective
yes I know that the above is something of a contradiction in all sorts of ways

Hi Goldie our posts overlapped. You have my thoughts on the referendum above.

These countrys with open borders in the EC are shutting them very quicly, and Merkle must be wondering how many bad uns have sneeked in with the ! million the germans are taking.

I think we will see a vote next week in parliament for not just a bombing campaign but a ground offensive, this is an attack on the WEST not just France and we have to wipe this scum off the earth.

Last night s terrible cruel happenings in Paris have certainly now sealed the OUT referendums vote on the EC.

Shame it had to happen this way, but why take the risk of no borders and all that chaos going into the future.

Im sure the referendum will be brought forward to early 2016 now, and a massive OUT vote.

Vodafone-Talktalk

Just to follow up my earlier post (#1403). I hadn't realised Vodafone had already launched a fixed line broadband offer, using the "nationwide fibre optic network which it acquired with Cable & Wireless four years ago".

They've only just launched and when asked about the numbers on Tuesday's call, Vittorio Colao replied "The early numbers are okay, but, again, at this stage it’s not worth talking about them, because they’re still small – and by the way, we started really in October, so it’s beyond the quarter, or the half year."

So does that undermine the logic for a Vodafone-Talktalk combination? Possibly, but on the other hand, the combination of Vodafone's own backbone network with Talktalk's existing local loop unbundling kit at the exchange end might be very powerful - and combined with Talktalk's existing broadband customer base might really kick-start Vodafone's UK broadband journey.

hmm, i haven't got that yet. Must be the email bug!

In the mean time, if some nigerian tells me he has fifty thousand quid to pay into my account as soon as I pay the grand admin fee or give him the online passwords for my account, i think i may well refuse. Unlike many people it seems.

And all in less than two weeks.

QP, you aren't doing yourself any favours with this stuff.

We're all entitled to change out minds. Pierre has explained his thinking and it seems more than reasonable to me...

onder who wrote this???

... business wrecked.....dividend chopped to zero....customers will desert...stigma there for yonks

I give in, who did write that? Oh, you did!

qp, congratulations on getting over your problem of always voting down my and others posts whatever their value or lack of.. Still many more problems yet to overcome though, haven't you.

You can invest by falling in love if you like, I'll invest by acting on known information and adapting my realistic view based on evidence, facts and changing information as it becomes available.

I expect we are both down a few grand on this aren't we. Difference is, i have more than made up my considerable talk losses with recent gains in BT - maybe you should have had sector diversification there too (it's still not too late if you decide to adopt a sensible investment strategy) instead of slagging it off. But i doubt you will, love makes people do silly things afterall.

The difference between you and me with this share qp is that I have been honest and wrong (several times) and you have been dishonest and wrong. Why not post a post of yours about ftse100 entry before the hack. I was wrong there and so were you, but i don't mind admitting it whereas you simply went off in a huff. Tres adult!
