09/2/2010 23:20 | Hello all, looking at the volumes of trades and the chunks of 5m trades (i think there was 5 of those today, each 5m trade being approx cost of £100k) it seems that there is either (1) someone accumulating for atakeover, (2) Someone acumulatign to stop a takeover....i also would not be surprised to see some form of holdings RNS or director buys announced | timbuck2

09/2/2010 22:07 | Joined you peeps on this in my small way. Thanks 4 heads up AW, TARA. I usually go for charts &/or fundies, but the sizzle on this could be a case of "buy the story before it comes out". A fun punt. Could go bananas..... | napoleon 14th
09/2/2010 22:02 | thanks nod loverat post 151 says there are more shares in circulation now how many was there before regards | asa8
09/2/2010 21:19 | asa8 - it was not due to dilution; it was due to major shareholders selling out. At the time, there were rumours that it was related to Icelandic banks selling but they held. Large chunks must have changed hands off market because the major shareholders changed very significantly. There was not a massive volume of trades going through the market at the end of 2008 but they were all sells at low prices and there were no buyers even though SAM looked 80% cheaper overnight. SAM had grown through a series of acquisitions and there was concern about its ability to service its debt. Also concern about whether it had overpaid for most of its business. It appeared it had but the directors behind the strategy have gone. | nod
09/2/2010 21:11 | Sorry meant to answer that self evident question, the markets fell into an abyss at that point in time and are now slowly recovering. SAM fell further due to fears of insolvency which have now gone due to the fund raising and paying off debt. Since then from what I can see there has been a massive overhang of shares from the placing. IF they have now gone then it is game on as they say. I have only researched from today but am good at skim reading and getting the gist of things. A good trait when you need to assess a stock quickly. In a nutshell it may be a false rise, there have been many since Oct 2009 BUT IF the overhang has gone and the turnaround is real we are onto a winner. NOW crystal ball time BUT as there were a lot of buys of over £100k each today my money is on being onto a winner. You decide have a read up only takes a few hours then decide :) Happy reading or just believe any old s--- you are fed. I don't but each to their own. AW | amazon_woman

09/2/2010 18:13 | hmmm wondered where you were tara it is your thread after all, I have kept it warm for you LOL. V exciting. They deleted that 5.5m buy from this morning and stuck it back on after hours, was that to put us off the scent? Just done 2 hours in the park with dog to keep calm I have a habit of getting ahead of myself dreaming of multibaggers but this one must fit the bill potentially :) Catch up tomorrow but I will wait for the RNS as they could try and shake us out before then. AW | amazon_woman
