RNS Number:0216Q Sun 3C Media PLC 23 January 2007 Sun 3C Media Plc This announcement replaces RNS 8616P with a correction to the description of Mr. Chen's previous employer and the tenure. Former President of China Mobile Appointed Chairman and CEO of Sun 3C Sun 3C Media, Plc (AIM: SCCC "Sun 3C") announced today that the former president of China Mobile, Mr. Chen Zhao Bin, has joined the company as Executive Chairman and CEO. Mr. Chen will replace Dr. Bruno Wu as Chairman of the company and Mr. Matthew Burr as CEO. Both Dr. Wu and Mr. Burr will remain with the company as Executive Directors. The company separately announced that Mr. Barry O'Neil, CEO of Sun 3C subsidiary Upstart Games, will join the board as Executive Director and that Mr. John Li has resigned his post as Executive Director. Mr. Chen is one of China's best known mobile and telecommunications industry executives. As President of China Mobile, Mr. Chen oversaw its 1997 IPO and laid the groundwork for China Mobile to assume its current position as the world's largest mobile network. As Chairman and CEO of Sun 3C, Mr. Chen will oversee the company's day-to-day operations, including the development and distribution of all mobile products and the expansion of the recently acquired China Business Post. Mr. Chen began his career as a lecturer at Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications before being appointed the Deputy Director of the Department of Post and Telecommunications. Since then Mr. Chen has held numerous high level positions in Chinese government organizations and private enterprises including president and managing director of China Telecom (Hong Kong) Ltd (the name of the China Mobile's Hong Kong arm at the time of listing) from 1996 to 1999. Most recently, Mr. Chen was President and Executive Director of APT Satellite Holdings Limited, where he served from 2001 to 2005.
