08/3/2008 16:21 | jfishy:- You are correct (from memory) re loan. The fact that Kroll are offering it for sale suggests to me that the mortgage holder is trying to recover some of his money - Anyone any idea what the ship could be worth? I suspect it may not reaise the mortgage in this period of tight credit. | pugugly
07/3/2008 18:45 | "They didn't even salvage anything." They did bring up (and sold) some copper ingots. My valuation of the assets: * Salvage vessel £0 Wasn't this mortgaged / attached to a loan or something? * Highly skilled crew (Accorting to Kroll !!! No comment) They probably are, I'm not sure I'd blame the failure of the company on the crew... * Extensive database of cargoes with gross value of approx $1 billion. £0 (details in the database can be found elsewhere) | jfishy
07/3/2008 14:52 | This highly trained crew - is this the same Crew that found SFA down in the depths after 3 years of blowing shareholders £30m? I imagine the CEO walks around with a patch in eye and a Plastic Parrot on his shoulder going Ahh, me hearties let's have a Rights Issue, Ahhhh! | isis
07/3/2008 14:46 | isis:- They are not selling They are bankrupt. Kroll are I believe the liquidator - So they should take thehighest bid and you get the asset free of debt. | pugugly
07/3/2008 14:37 | They didn't even salvage anything. I'd be surprised if they own anything - I'm sure this Company was an April Fool and they'll own up soon. | isis
07/3/2008 14:35 | LOL Are the fishing rods and magnets included ? | karn evil 9

05/3/2008 15:12 | marwalker: There is investing in risky ventures & investing on the basis of lies issued by the MD of a company through RNS statements. I can decide to invest in a company by measuring the risk against the reward. However, if the companies officers are lying then my measurements will be wrong or skewed. Besides, if lies are told by companies, any investment would then be an outright gamble. If you can't believe the data in RNS statements what can you believe? | jfishy
05/3/2008 09:23 | Tombarr suggested to "email the FSA and question why Gleave ref number: MFG01024 is still registered as a fit an proper person with them, given the company's admission of misleading investors with him at the helm, and why Apollo Advisers Limited piotr@apolloadvisors A good idea but frankly I doubt whether either of these will do anything. I reckon that it would be a good idea to e-mail Simon Goodley who edits the Daily Telegraph Business Diary. His e-mail address is simon.goodley@telegr There has to be a story in this saga!! 04/3/2008 20:01 | Look I can tell there are many astute investors here..... Tomorrow I plan to invest £100 seed capital in a metal detector. I understand there is some great wealth somewhere on the shores of U.K. I propose to issue a million pounds worth of shares for this Great Enterprise. You must remember I have AIM fees , financial advisors , etc. to pay .... and of course I need to stay in rather expensive hotels while I am working. You can join me in my good fortune. | marwalker

04/3/2008 19:42 | I don't believe you can expect too much justice ... history is littered with co's with grand designs .... would you invest in Allen Bonds Airship co. that was going to transport cargo in Baloons ? Well many did.... what about all that nickel from Australia , Poseidon etc. ? Markets have always had periphery 'ideas ' going on ..... | marwalker
04/3/2008 19:41 | Well thats a shame for holders, SUB has provided a fair bit of entertainment and some good profits while it lasted. Perhaps the best example yet of the incompetence of fund managers giving away millions without a clue to the realities of the operations they are investing in. What ever happened to due diligence.... If there are any chartists out there have a gander at EEN a two year inverted head and shoulders looks like it could play out. | captainfatcat |
