From last night's Stockmarket Reporter from the UK-Analyst stable:

"Movers elsewhere included Sports Cafe (SCA), up 3p at 16.5p as investors speculated that there may be renewed bid activity."

I agree Dr.

They both look like buys to me. Someone with fairly large pockets has confidence. If I'm right, I wonder if they'll be in for anymore early next week?

If so, it could set the cat amoungst the pigeons as it won't take much to reverse sentiment and kick start momentum buying. I also think most of the nervous/spooked investors are now out.

Of course the take-over talks MAY all go pear shaped but no official negative news is good news imho.

Robin

I admire your caution but don't give up on this one. There's hopefully still time to hop back in.

Good luck to all.

good luck guys. I would have discounted the rumour too, other than it comes on the heels of two downbeat messages (poor 4th quarter and then reference to bank covenants, and then full year expectations down.)

I thought at the time that these things tend to come along in threes, and then bang on schedule....

unfortunately it seems like the rumour is consistent with the large fall in share pirce, and with the downbeat messages in announcements.

If I was the board of that company, would I feel that the current climate was one in which I could get the best deal for investors? would I heck as like....it would go on the back burner till better trading figures came out and the share price recovered.

MBO, well maybe thats a different matter......

no advice intended,

RoL

Medium to long term this is a great stock. The majority shareholder is well known in this industry and won't sell unless a stupid offer comes in. For you investors thinking SCA will sell, you really are barking up the wrong tree. I look forward to getting a dividend in 2008, and watching alot of you sell the shares before Cmas 2006. ha ha ha
