Posted at 22/2/2021 12:45 by jeffian Does anyone know how the GBP offer works? SIG are being sold in $ and the offer was stated to be "411 pence based on the Announcement Exchange Rate". Is that variable? The market price is now well below 411p. Is this a reflection of the strength of the £ v $? |

Posted at 04/12/2019 17:08 by jeffian Buyzantium,The conversion rate was announced on Monday (see 'News' above). Declared dividend Exchange rate Dividend to be paid for those receiving dividends in sterling 80.71 cents per share 0.774473 62.50772 The Special Dividend will be paid on 13 December 2019 to shareholders who were on the register at 6.00 pm on 22 November 2019. |
Posted at 26/11/2019 14:21 by jeffian They do that nominally to keep the share price and future dividends etc on a 'like-for-like' basis, otherwise the reduction in capital would have appeared to reduce both by an equivalent amount. The tedious thing, if you're subject to UK tax, is that although it is genuinely returning part of your capital to you (you are receiving proceeds of sale of part of the business and your shareholding is being reduced to reflect that), you are taxed on the whole (not just any gain on your acquisition cost) as a dividend at your highest marginal tax rate. Still, that's nothing to what we will be paying if Corbyn gets in! |
Posted at 26/11/2019 11:45 by buyzantium Thank you for your prompt and helpful reply. I was aware of the consolidation which naturally takes care of the initially perceived generosity of the special dividend. Even so we seem to be heading in the right direction again. |
Posted at 26/11/2019 11:14 by buyzantium Thank you Jeffian. Maybe you could kindly help. I was trying to establish the precise amount in sterling that will be paid per share held before XD on 22nd November in respect of the special dividend to be paid on 13th December. I assume it will be about 63p ? |
Posted at 26/11/2019 11:06 by jeffian BBA Aviation has changed its name to Signature Aviation with the new ticker SIG. Have started this new thread as the old charts and news will no longer function. |

Posted at 19/2/2014 15:20 by billbyrne Looks like the market likes the deal :-).Maybe a hint of a deal in the announcement on the 24th Jan, In addition to delivering consistently positive retail operating results, we continue to focus on deploying capital in ways that maximize long-term value for shareholders, including acquisition activity, reinvestment in the core business, share buybacks and dividends. Since 2010, we have taken steps to eliminate non-optimized debt structure, re-initiate a regular dividend, repurchase stock and make strategic acquisitions. Total Shareholder Return was 185.7% during this time period. |
Posted at 28/3/2013 12:01 by billbyrne A very good set of results. 25% increase in dividend a nice bonus. |
