Results of general meeting of GFSA shareholders

At the general meeting of GFSA shareholders held on Wednesday 19 April 2000,
the requisite majorities of GFSA shareholders passed the special and ordinary
resolutions necessary to implement the distribution by GFSA to its
shareholders of its holdings of listed shares in Gold Fields Limited ("GFL")
and Northam Platinum Limited ("Northam") in terms of section 60 of the Income
Tax Act, 1993 (Act 113 of 1993), as amended. The special resolution has been
lodged with the Registrar of Companies for registration.

Accordingly, subject to the registration of the special resolution, GFSA
shareholders, registered as such at the close of business on Friday 28 April
2000, will be entitled to receive 5,837368 GFL shares and 128,649687 Northam
shares for every 100 GFSA shares held on that date.
