RNS Number:6392V Screen FX PLC 14 December 2005 14 December 2005 ScreenFX TV goes live on Central Trains ScreenFX plc, a leading provider of advanced digital advertising and communication systems, today announces that its passenger TV and information network has gone live on Central Trains in Birmingham. ScreenFX is delivering an integrated package of news, weather, sport and entertainment provided by Sky, which is updated throughout the day. Central Trains carries over 35 million passengers a year, with an average journey duration of 30 minutes, although the ScreenFX passenger target is initially around 10 million. The transport sector is one of the most valuable mediums for the advertising market. IPSOS* independent research has shown that on-board train television advertising has strong potential, primarily as commuter trains provide a captive, affluent audience, who are travelling an average journey time of 30-60 minutes. Of these passengers, 69% are classified in the ABC1 category and 80% of those researched were positive about train TV systems and reported good levels of advertisement recognition. ScreenFX believes that this sector represents significant potential for the Group and has recruited a small, highly experienced team familiar with the railway environment to develop this major opportunity over the long term. Dave Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Screen FX, said: "This is a key milestone in ScreenFX's development as it provides entry into the fast-growing transport advertising sector and extends us beyond our initial shopping mall market. Transport advertising is one of the fastest growing areas on the outdoor market and we are keen to provide a great service for our clients and for their customers."
