Paul McNulty Joins SAI Global Compliance Law and Ethics Advisors

McNulty, partner at the Washington, DC office of Baker & McKenzie LLP, has joined the SAI Global Compliance Law and Ethics Advisors. Mr. McNulty, former U.S. Deputy Attorney General and author of the "McNulty Memorandum", specializes in business crimes and investigations and corporate compliance.

The SAI Global Compliance Law and Ethics Advisors include prominent lawyers, ethicists, and industry experts in the fields of business ethics and corporate compliance who provide insight, subject matter expertise and guidance to SAI Global in developing and updating courses, understanding and reacting to industry trends, and advising the company on legally compliant and ethically responsible workplace behavior.

Mr. McNulty joined Baker & McKenzie in 2007 after more than twenty years of public service. He is a partner in the firm's Washington, DC office, and plays a lead role in the firm's corporate compliance and risk management practices, both in North America and globally.  Mr. McNulty advises corporate clients on a range of compliance matters.  He also leads internal investigations and provides vigorous defense of corporate criminal allegations in a complex US and international legal environment.

For more than two decades, Mr. McNulty held high-level positions in federal and state government and played a leading role in shaping U.S. law enforcement policy.  In December 2006, as the second highest-ranking official in the Department of Justice, Mr. McNulty authored the controlling statement on federal prosecution of business organizations - the "McNulty Memorandum" - which has now been incorporated in large measure into the United States Attorneys' Manual and is an essential element in determining how a corporation should respond to allegations of criminal wrongdoing. His extensive resume, including more than four years as the United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, reveals exceptional experience in providing strategic advice and counsel to leaders at the highest levels of federal and state government - including the President, Governors, four Attorneys General, and many high-ranking Congressional leaders.
