Listing under Alcan's Dividend Reinvestment Plan and Share Purchase Plan

In accordance with the undertaking given on the grant of listing for 4,100,612
Common shares of no par value on June 14 1989, Stock Exchange Reference:
89/1544, I am writing to inform you that the position as at March 31, 2002 was 
as follows:

39,624.255 shares were allotted during the quarter ending March 31, 2002, and 
5,028,182.988 of these shares remain reserved for issue.

If, at any time, shares are to become eligible for listing and will not rank
pari passu with existing listed shares, application will be made through de
Zoete & Bevan Limited for an additional line in the Official List for those
shares. If the number of shares available under the Dividend Reinvestment Plan
and Share Purchase Plan alters by reason of issue by way of capitalization of
reserves etc., I will apply for the further amount then available for issue.

In accordance with the undertaking given on the grant of listing for 1,581,505
Common shares of no par value on June 14 1989, Stock Exchange Reference:
89/1544, I am writing to inform you that the position as at March 31, 2002 was 
as follows:

162,838.000 shares were allotted during the quarter ending March 31, 2002, and 
15,538,006.000 of these shares remain reserved for issue.

If, at any time, shares are to become eligible for listing and will not rank
pari passu with existing listed shares, application will be made through de
Zoete & Bevan Limited for an additional line in the Official List for those
shares. If the number of shares available under the Executive Share Option Plan
alters by reason of issue by way of capitalization of reserves etc., I will
apply for the farther amount then available for issue.
