Just think about it, what is there to take over;1) A lot of very expensive staff, on long contracts, with share options. A long list of expensive redundancy payments. 2) a business declining at 15% per annum for the previous 2 years. Makes no bottom line profit and generates no cash.3) £180m of debt with a tiny amount of hard tangible assets As you all say. A takeover is pie in the sky!!

Anything could happen indeed. The question someone really needs to ask is: what’s the probability that (IF a larger/takeover takes place) the price of that transaction will be around 40p?If one thinks such odds are staggeringly low then that has implications on where exactly one stands.

I conceed that on a 5 year view this could be a risky punt. However, on a 1 year view, it is not. Especially as acquisition shares will still be issued in 2024 / 25. Revenue decline has been accelerating over the past 18 months. That shows the company is struggling with integrating their acquisitions. Who knows when or if this trend will change (sometimes acquisitions can be the downfall of companies). Despite the bulls on here talking about a takeover, no one will try while business is on the decline. There's a huge difference between WPP in the 1990's and S4 now. WPP was always a good cash generator while S4 hasn't proven this yet. Much better to watch the share price action closely and play the spikes with well timed short positions. IF S4 manage to reverse revenue decline, there will plenty of opportunity to go long.

It's a turnaround and a takeover target. A quality customer base.

It very rarely happens because no one wants to pay good money for a loss maker. It is always the cash generating, good balance sheet companies that get taken out. Especially in high interest rate environments.In essence, the shares have fallen for very valid reasons. There's currently no sign that that's changed. S4 have to return to growth very soon. If revenue decline continues then they are in serious trouble.

Zb27....Reason why markets are totally manipulated. Big buying, hardly moves up, tiny algo sells. I agree, without algo manipulation I don't believe that S4 share price would have been on offer @35p. Its a corrupt market where the pro's make their money, moving the share price to whatever price they want. At some point there is a reality check, and the share price recovers, or someone will re rate the share price with a takeover offer.

Unfortunately, if being nicer means believing that a serial under performing share will make you rich, I would rather pass. I am here to make money not socialise. If you really believe SMS having a golden share (that prevents any takeover without his consent) is a good thing, then shout away. The only other golden share in the UK markets are Rolls Royce, Babcock, BAe (who all have a golden share owned by the government for UK defence reasons.

Yes, base case for S4 is 250p, one way or another it will be back upto that level. Any takeover/MBO has to be over 200p. Once it moves, there will be no stopping. If S4 approached 100p in quick time, clear signal M&A is happening. Shorters close, Institutions load up before any deal.

It's funny how SMS was discussing the valuation of his company at the beginning of the week, is the market just waking up to the valuation SMS said? Also, I must admit not many CEO's put a valuation on their business unless they have received a takeover bid, that information is usually held very close. IMO.

Cant get quotes to mock sell, above 8k but when you can its far above the quoted bid price. Martin is no fool and he definitely got an interest to see the company lift out of the doldrums. Merger or Takeover Selling or probably buying. Shop sales moving forward well, bigger adverting spend.

Hi Auson, he's not the genius 100% record that he would have us all believe, far from it. BT is by far my largest shareholding, should perform will once FTTP is completed, massive cost savings ahead with at least 40% reduction in workforce. Possible takeover target, although unlikely to receive government approval. Increasing dividends policy. I like to invest where I see value, both BT & S4 Capital fit the bill, should do well over the long term. Unlike Wally I don't have a 100% record, but I've not done too badly over my 30+ years investing, more good investments than bad, you can't ask for more than that. Without sounding like Wally, I've made more investing in property than in shares. Happy to hold/add in both companies. JMO.

FUTURE GETS BRIGHTER... SMS only today on CNBC-Europe Street Signs is extremely positive on Deal Volumes increasing as Demand is high. Also, SMS does Not Rule Out a Takeover as mentioned in Wall Street Journal. WSJ. SMS stated Destiny is in their Hands!! Therefore, if the Price is right he will Accept an offer in my view. All very Positive as Prospects Increase.

RNS states market changes with SFOR. If Takeover or Mega Deals etc then massive movement justified...much more to come.. Higher High above 60p will result in Breakout then we have takeoff in sentiment and future growth ...as Institutions move in...with 100p plus more likely
