Quite an old piece (a month or so), but in the ICAEW trade rag, so a bit more restrained than the tabloid likes of Accountancy Age. It's a wild old time in chartered accountancy land...

Lloyds will definitely keep them afloat - pointless pulling the plug - they'll lose the lot.

I have just filled up this years ISA with these. I suspect that if there is the slightest chance that TNO is a going concern Lloyds will be happy to keep them afloat.

Might need some restructuring but the new CEO seems to be doing and saying the right things.

All depends on whether they can turn it around. If they do 5p will look very silly.

Interesting - planning a comeback, and more management turmoil as he ousts the new management?

More likely he's flogging a dead horse, throwing good money after bad and just won't accept he messed up badly.

As ever, time will tell...

Barmy Bob bought some more. Is that a good or bad sign !

Oh and the new CFO has just purchased an initial 1/2m shares.

Some volume in recent days - the RNS today re standard listing vs premium listing shouldn't impact shareholders, so possibly unrelated to volumes over recent days.

No real news, unless they're forced to, before October. Still staying well away.

CEO has given an interview - seems to be experienced in the art of saying nothing with plenty of words:

The audit watchdog said firms were cutting corners to compensate for lower fees, which was putting audit quality in severe jeopardy.
"We are not happy with some of the things audit firms are doing to cut their expenses as it has resulted in businesses being given less attention and a reduction in the quality of audits," said Paul George, head of auditing at the FRC.
"We are putting a warning shot out there so firms don't lose sight of the minimum work that is needed.
"While we understand there are commercial pressures in the current economic environment, we have a public interest responsibility to ensure that commercial pressure is not getting out of hand."

Wonder how much the banks will want for arranging anything? A pound of flesh, someones knackers, £8m or warrants over 20% of the stock?

looks like we're about to get some news judging by the volume increase.

d4e I reckon, they'll not be able to afford the interest charges on the lower fee base otherwise imho...

with fee income drying up and all accountants undercutting each other for work this looks doomed..

the TNO approach of minimum fixed fee looks sillier by the day, I suppose with such a high cost base it was needed, but much like the high street shops the days of overpaying for a product have lone gone..
