30/8/2007 22:39 | nice surprise on my return from a weeks hols. inst buying on the back of H1 results earlier this month? | melody9999
28/8/2007 14:24 | Anyone have any suggestions why RPS is so strong today against a generally rather weak market? Looking increasingly as if the little battle we've had over the past month is going to be resolved in the bulls' favour - but needs to reach 370 to confirm that a new upleg is under way. | bletherer
28/8/2007 13:53 | Looks like we could have left 3.50 behind at last. Could even be breaking through 3.60! | mkloos2
17/8/2007 23:52 | holding well kern - but for all the shenanigans I reckon we would be seeing new highs now. I'm sold most of my portfolio but held on here. | melody9999
16/8/2007 06:36 | agree melody - hindsight is a beautiful thing! I also hold a long term long position which does feel a little exposed at the moment - especially with last night's DOW close | kern
15/8/2007 21:36 | kern - u were right - was an excellent opp for a s/bet short to protect my long term long position - oh the wisdom of hindsight! | melody9999
14/8/2007 11:50 | getting above this 348p resistance should be interesting | kern
13/8/2007 21:04 | errr- what did I say in post 14 about the dow behaving....now how about a new high? | melody9999
13/8/2007 16:27 | Yes, having frightened the average PI to death it's the institutions clearing up again on the cheap. And they say it's a level playing field for all. | peaeff
13/8/2007 15:59 | Some huge buy trades today. | mkloos2
08/8/2007 13:32 | Support services Environmental services specialist RPS will continue growing at 25% a year through acquisitions and organic growth, underpinned by awareness of global warming. RPS will continue making acquisitions in order to extend its expertise and geographical presence. | sllab101
08/8/2007 13:32 | Looking rather better now. | rrr
08/8/2007 00:00 | Well many PIs will be on holiday; still others taking a break from the markets; or at least not investing in the current volatility. Meanwhile surely it will take the insts a few days to react and possibly increase? At least todays RNS resulted in a nice rise and we may well get some follow through over the next week if the FTSE and Dow behave! | melody9999
07/8/2007 12:11 | The only thing I can think of is that there may be an overhang of shares from, perhaps, an institution dumping during the past couple of weeks. The problem we have at the moment is that any upside at present is likely to be eroded by whatever happens over the pond later today. Regards | peaeff
07/8/2007 11:30 | INTERVIEW RPS Group to grow 25 pct per year as climate change becomes key - FD LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Environmental consultancy services company RPS Group PLC will continue growing at about 25 pct per year, through acquisitions and organic growth, as climate change becomes a focus. RPS' finance director Gary Young told Thomson Financial News in an interview that the company has been growing at about 25 pct per annum for the past ten years, a rate that will continue, underpinned by people's awareness of global warming. - How much news can we cope with in one day? And why is the share price not reflecting the news? | mkloos2
07/8/2007 11:30 | An extract from an update. Numis Securities analyst Francesca Raleigh, who lifted her recommendation on the stock to 'buy' from 'add' said there also is scope for upgrades to forecasts. "RPS has the potential to achieve 20 pct per annum plus EPS growth based on double digit organic turnover growth and EPS enhancing acquisitions, where its record is very good," Raleigh said. So one wonders why the share price is slowly sinking on a day when the ftse is rising. | peaeff
07/8/2007 09:57 | DG Yes it was, that seems to have been another trend during this period of instability, ie: most of the movement coming at opening thus the mm's being the main gainers. | peaeff
07/8/2007 09:49 | they were marked up 10p at opening, weren't they? | dull gull
07/8/2007 09:41 | It appears, as of 9.30, that the figures have stood for very little. Most companies have recovered yesterday's losses, but so far RPS have yet to do even that. Hopefully we may get some broker guidance later but, all things being equal, I would have expected a better rise than this, certainly on the strength of the figures alone. It's probably just as well that the FTSE is up today, otherwise interims could have been a non-event. I fully expected a return to the 350p mark, where we hovered for so long, would be more the order of things. Regards PF | peaeff
07/8/2007 09:35 | Interesting factoid: 2007 interim earnings are higher than the full year earnings of 2004. Shows what progress can be made when a few good results are strung together! | dull gull
07/8/2007 07:58 | DG I agree with your sentiment. The company have definately delivered now we shall see what the FTSE has in store for us. | peaeff
07/8/2007 07:37 | Glancing at these results, they are much better than I expected. These rises are off the back of a very strong first half last year so that makes them all the more impressive. (I was hoping for earnings growth of just 15 to 20 per cent to consolidate the rises of the share price this year.) | dull gull
06/8/2007 16:45 | I have put all my eggs in this basket for tomorrow. Lets hope the FTSE behaves itself and, more importantly, the figures are very good. Much of this decline in the shareprice is to do with the 250 and nothing to do with any adverse sentiment about RPS. So, if we get the best of both worlds tomorrow, we may well get a nice rise. Here's hoping! | peaeff
06/8/2007 11:54 | LOL! Sorry to disappoint, but no! | rrr
06/8/2007 11:38 | R3 I suppose you haven't got tomorrows bt any chance. regards PF | peaeff |
