TIDMROK RNS Number : 6658C Rok PLC 18 November 2009 Date: 18 November 2009 On behalf of: Rok plc ("Rok") Embargoed until: 0700hrs Rok plc Rok awarded Preferred Bidder as part of consortium in Oldham Housing Project worth GBP130 million Rok plc, the property repair and maintenance specialist, is pleased to announce its appointment as part of a consortium awarded Preferred Bidder by Oldham Council for work on the Gateways to Oldham housing and regeneration project, worth a total of GBP130 million. Rok is part of the Inspiral Consortium which also includes Regenter and Great Places Housing Group. The Private Finance Initiative contract will span 25 years and aims to transform four key areas of Oldham into diverse and attractive residential areas; Rok will be responsible for building 430 new social and private homes, modernising and refurbishing 324 existing council homes, and providing long term repair and maintenance work for all social housing. This forward thinking project also involves creating high-quality public open spaces, improved car parking and new community facilities; all with the aim of establishing modern and sustainable communities in which people will choose to live and work. Regenter is the lead investor, developer and manager for the project, and Great Places Housing Group is co-investor and developer, providing neighbourhood and estates management services. Commenting on the successes, Rok's Chief Executive, Garvis Snook, said: "This appointment is excellent news for Rok and particularly demonstrates how public organisations are continuing to invest for the future, despite current economic conditions. The project itself will allow us to demonstrate our skills in building new homes, refurbishing existing properties and maintaining houses over the long term.
