For what it's worth, there was this snippet in the prospectus sent to investors in Elite at the time of the fund raising for the reversal into RET. I would hope they view it as a long-term strategic investment.
Many years since I last read the Beano!

"The Equity Investment
The Partnership has negotiated to subscribe to a 12.5 million Ordinary Shares from the Company. In parallel with this
Meadowside Leasing Limited, a company owned by DC Thomson , a publishing and media company (owners of The Beano),
and other existing investors will simultaneously make a similar investment."

The management also sound canny operators - apologies for the lack of formatting:

Hastings - I have obtained a copy of their Powerpoint Presentation to prospective investors during their 'City Day' last week.

If you or anyone else would like a copy just post your email address and I will send it to you. I'll let you know when I've sent it so you can delete your email address from this thread.

Hastings - Thanks for the shareholding information in post #65. That accounts for circa 36.5m shares or around 29% of the total issued shares. Are there any other sources of information where we might find out who the other significant holders (above 3%) might be ?

Incidentally your figure of total shares in issue would appear to be slightly outdated. The last RNS that referred to this was issued on Nov 23rd (see the extract below) and that quoted 125.7m as at that date.

Extract from RNS dated 23/11/07
"The Company has now acquired the remaining balance of the Retec Interface Ltd
Ordinary shares for which acceptances were not received pursuant to the
statutory rights under section 429 of the Companies Act 1985. Accordingly the
Company has issued and allotted a further 553,500 Ordinary Shares. It is expected that Admission will take place and that dealings will commence on Friday 24 November 2006. The New Ordinary Shares, are issued, and fully paid and will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing Ordinary Shares. Consequently the enlarged issue share capital of the Company is now 125,709,141 ordinary shares".

Masurenguy - no problem, worth digging it out as changing a companies name is a good way of 'hiding' some of the facts of its history. I lived/worked in Dusseldorf for a couple of years (when I set up my advfn account) hence the name. Been watching ETS/RET for a couple of years hence general interest
