Reed Health Group plc (the "Company")



The Company has been informed on 20 October 2003 that Schroder Investment
Management Limited (SIML) have an interest in 9,419,680 Ordinary Shares of 2p
each ("Ordinary Shares") in the Company, which are held in portfolios managed on
a discretionary basis for clients under investment management agreements.



Included in the above figure are:

         i.      5,959,354 shares held in (a) unit trust(s) operated and managed
by an affiliated company, Schroder Unit Trusts Limited (SUTL), and registered in
the name of Chase Nominees Limited;



       ii.      400,000 shares registered or to be registered in the name of
SIML wholly-owned subsidiary nominee company, Schroder Nominees Limited
(Schroder Nominees);



      iii.      3,060,326 shares neither registered nor to be registered in the
name of Schroder Nominees.  The registration details are as follows:

An affiliated company, Schroder Investment Management North America Inc (SIMNA
Inc), is managing a portfolio holding a further 720,000 Ordinary Shares. These
shares are registered or to be registered in the name of Chase Nominees Limited.



As a consequence SIML, its subsidiaries and affiliated companies have an
interest in an overall aggregate of 10,139,680 Ordinary Shares representing
approximately 27.11% of the total number Ordinary Shares currently in issue.



The notification received by the company is given:

(a)     in respect of SIML's interest as investment managers,

(b)     on behalf of SIMNA Inc and SUTL in relation to the interests they are
treated as having respectively under the Companies Act 1985 (the "Act"), and

(c)     on behalf of Schroders plc, which is treated as having an interest in
all of the above shares under the Act by virtue of its ownership of SIMNA Inc,
SUTL and SIML.
