PCCW to Deploy Riverstone 15008 Ethernet Edge Router In Hong Kong



SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 26  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Carrier Ethernet
pioneer Riverstone Networks (OTC:RSTN.PK) today announced the shipment of its
newest product, the Riverstone 15008 Ethernet Edge Router, to PCCW Limited, the
largest communications service provider in Hong Kong and one of the leading
information technology and telecommunications service providers in Asia.
Cascade Limited, PCCW's professional services subsidiary that designs and
implements data and broadband networks, will begin deploying the Riverstone
15008 in PCCW's network to provide the carrier's customers with business-class,
bandwidth-intensive Ethernet services through its existing metro Ethernet
network.

By deploying the new MPLS/VPLS-based, 10 Gigabit Ethernet edge router, PCCW
will be able to tailor and deliver scalable, flexible, high Quality of Service
(QoS) services to its customers.  The Riverstone 15008's capacity and advanced
features will give PCCW the scalability needed to cost-effectively grow their
network to meet the escalating demands for Ethernet services.

Designed to meet service providers' rapidly growing need to optimize their
networks for today's fast-growing Ethernet services, the Riverstone 15008
Ethernet Edge Router is the first Ethernet edge router to employ a distributed
and modular operating system architecture. By running software protocols as
modular processes, the Riverstone 15008 is able to deliver unmatched routing
