04/12/2009 09:11 | jeffian - 2 Dec'09 - 17:43 - 47 of 50 N111, I agree with your point about not worth selling if you've already lost 90% and the remaining holding only worth peanuts. Unfortunately, I've got some of those as well! Well well so it looks like ADVFN's pubco guru has got his fingers burnt by this little bit of toast. Precious little comfort to the dozens ahead of him in the queue who he has chided (albeit gently) over the years when they suffered the same fate in a pubco. Hard luck mate!. Hope it was only a few quid because you don't to be told the likely outcome here. | littleweed

02/12/2009 21:24 | glad you agree, and your very right re their credit. however, been in now i'm in 2 minds as to average down even more, or just hold what i have...if i was to average down and something was to come of pnb it could be very lucrative, if not, well i really should have learnt my lesson lol! anyway, heres to looking on the bright side of things, and if that means i have to relocate to one of the pubs and keep it afloat, then so be it! actually, maybe we should round up all the pnb shareholders and have a little get together over a few drinks in one of pnbs taverns...the money spent would probably be put to better use than buying the shares of the co lol! | napoleon111
02/12/2009 17:43 | N111, I agree with your point about not worth selling if you've already lost 90% and the remaining holding only worth peanuts. Unfortunately, I've got some of those as well! 8-( The comment was really aimed at anyone tempted to buy in at these levels - even at 2p you could still lose 100% of your investment. "The fact that they are a cash business should help in the short term to keep the company up and running". That's why I made the comment I did in #45; yes that's normally true for pub businesses which are taking cash at retail margin across the counter for goods they are buying at wholesale prices on 30/60 day credit, but in this case it's now the other way round - their suppliers are making them pay cash up front before they deliver the wholesale goods for them to sell to customers. That reversal requires a huge increase in working capital from a company which is already struggling. | jeffian
02/12/2009 14:17 | lol, very good point jeffian! but at the same time i believe (again my opinion only) that after losing 80-90% of your/my/anyones investment instead of cutting your loses and pocketing what will probably only amount to a few hundred quid, it would make sense to hold awhile longer and see if theres a recovery, again imho etc etc. The fact that they are a cash business should help in the short term to keep the company up and running, debt is a problem obviously, but i reckon this could be a great recovery play. not ramping, just my opinion, and therefore i'm holding out, and of course if the co was to go belly up, wouldnt be happy at losing all my investment but thats a risk i would be willing to take, couple of hundred quid selling at 2p aint gonna get me anywhere! | napoleon111
02/12/2009 10:48 | "who in their right mind would sell at 2p?" Errrr.....those who would rather have 2p than 0p? "...the Group continues to experience difficult trading conditions and a lack of supplier credit to the business which is having an adverse effect on the Group's working capital." A "lack of supplier credit" means they are on cash-with-order (i.e. the supplier requires cash before delivering) which, for a business used to 30/60 days credit on supplies and taking cash across the bar from their retail customers, is a complete reversal of the status quo and will be playing havoc with their cashflow, regardless of trading difficulties. Expect the worst. | jeffian
02/12/2009 09:55 | look slike some people are getting the jitters!! who in their right mind would sell at 2p? madness, why take a loss? no patience to wait and see if something comes from pnb? Alcohol will always be a neccessity whether in a boom or downturn...wellmaybe thats just a personal opinion lol! | napoleon111
