Project Telecom strengthens board

MONDAY, 6 January 2003 - Project Telecom plc, the leading virtual network
operator focused on the business market, announces the appointment of Peter
Godfrey as a non-executive director.

Mr Godfrey is President, Global Network Services, at American Express, having
joined in 1997 as President, American Express Europe.  From 1985 to 1997, he
worked in a number of senior positions at HSBC/Midland Bank and previous to that
he spent 12 years with the Royal Bank of Scotland/Williams & Glyn's.  He has had
a successful career in General Management, Sales, Marketing and overall business
development over the past 25 years.

Tim Radford, Chief Executive of Project Telecom, said: "We are delighted to have
someone of Peter Godfrey's calibre joining the board.  He brings a wealth of
experience, together with a strong track record in international
business-to-business and customer relationship management, that will be
