Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that. Will see if there is a ENQ1 board.

that RNS does make it clear... thanks.

btw, if you want to include "live" links you usually need to capitalise one (or more) of the leading "http".. i.e.

Hope the link at the end works.

Record date shown as cob 12/02.

It's above $65, not $70, and as I understand it, it is average oil price over a period. So no cash unless oil stays above 65 for the period. Can't be bothered to look it up because there is no reason to get excited until oil gets above 65.

My understanding is that even though we bought recently, we get the full 6 months pik.

The purchase was not significant as a portfolio percentage. Just something to be sort of interesting. Purchase price was 83 something. An experiment too because it will be good to have confirmation as to how these function. I will post when we are "paid"

Should be posting on the ENQ1 board really.

Back to PMO1, timetable for settlement says after 22/03. So we all have to be patient whichever we chose.

Re. ENQ1 bonds, although the Ex-"div" date is 14th Feb/Aug for payment of the coupon on the 15th, when they PiK, for some reason it's based on your holding on the last day of the previous month.. at least this was my experience when it traded some in that 2 week period a couple of years ago..

I'd be interested to hear if dandigirl finds the same...?

Dandygirl: ENQ 1 don't provide a dividend unless the oil price is above 70p.Instead your account will be credited with bonds to the value of the dividend at face value. Example is your dividend is 100 GBP you'll be credited with 100 bonds. This is a bit of a downside as at the time you could have purchased 100 bonds for 80GBPs.

Well, some people are of the view that there is going to a rise in the price of oil post-COVID. I tend to agree. So, I am holding for the cash/equity and will consider buying more when things settle down a bit.

And we bought a small amount of ENQ1 a few days ago. They went ex-div today.

I sold my entire holding yesterday at 0.82 - too many unknowns. I shall not risk putting the proceeds into ENQ1 !!

Steve. The deal is as good as done and since its announcement the shares have bounced from around 13p to 20p so maybe the deal is already in the price.

Yes you may not get the expected allotment of shares but also you may not get the expected amount of cash. If, buts and maybes all over the place here.

voci.. So if there's a (albeit small) profit to be had at current prices, I'm surprised more people aren't locking in today's price by shorting the shares now, and then replacing them with the ones that'll be received as part of the Harbour deal. The theoretical profit of 1283 (9583-8300) represents a profit of 15% (less costs of course)...

I suppose the risk is that you won't get your expected allotment of shares, and you'd need to buy on the open market... Perhaps suggesting the share price will rise significantly on deal completion....?

bwtfdik..

Well after much deliberation I decided to sell my entire holding this morning, overall it's been a fun (& profitable) ride. Best of luck to those of you continuing the journey.

thanks voci... so currently 10k nominal value will cost you just 8,300....?

----------

When these were issued the price was £1 so 10,000 would have a nominal value of £10,000
and if you can buy them today for 83p then yes they would cost you £8,300.

The Harbour offer for 10,000 is in region of £6383 sterling (USD 8809) plus 15765 shares which is around £3200 at a share price of 20.5p. So a total value of 9583. Not quite the £10,000 that would have been paid if they had matured in May under the original terms, but an improvement on current value.

This assumes a share price of around 20p but as Rooky4 points out what on earth the share price will actually be is anyone's guess.

But what value will the market place on Harbour Energy shares after the re-organisation?
I find that to be impossible to calculate.

It won't be anything like the current PMO price.
