Looks like he does not start till July. That is when his notice period runs out. So this is very much a long term hire. He seems someone who can take Porta to the next level as he has done with MHP. Exciting to have some fresh blood and new ideas in Porta.

I think you have to remember they cut out a lot costs this year. 1M savings. If they are planning mergers in the future it makes perfect sense to appoint a COO. Better to employ this man before that happens? They announced after TU that they were employing a number of staff to improve Porta overall. 4 or so weeks on they announce the first person. I think we will see 1-2 announcements each month before the results.

As for DW he must be thinking about retirement. I would guess within next 2 years?? I always thought Steffan was bought in to replace him. I really doubt they are just hiring these people for the sake of it. Porta is changing and would grow fast with a lot of acquisitions and mergers.

They can't be worried about cash here either as no cash call has been made. Things are not half as bad as many on this forum make out. We were at 9.5-10p last October and from a trading point of view they still seem to be on track ebidta wise when you exclude one off costs.

Overall the share fluctutations on a daily basis should be ignored here due to II adjusting levels. Any share would go down on the basis of a 9-10% shareholder selling out. The share will recover after this. I am far from deluded here. I am quite realisitic and believe the share is worth much more than the current 6-6.5p.

See what happens. Patience is the key here. I think management know what they are doing here. They have 20-30+ years of experience. I also expect the directors to all buy in after the first few acquisitions. Maybe May a week or so after the results? Closed period for 2 months come March 28th.

FD job vacancy: needs ability to spend money, no need to conduct DD on acquisition, ability to use brackets on a balance sheet, propensity to issue lots of shares and generally destroy shareholder value. Salary £250k plus benefits and probably some shares for good measure.

II still selling here. Looks like a few small investors have bailed in last few days too. Hard to tell really if II or joe traders. No one truly knows how many shares the II have left to sell here. Once that clears things will improve.

I wonder if the share price is influencing any possible deals here.

Just been looking at the Porta Twitter page. Looks like Newgate have signed up a new client called Mirada. Small Aim company.

Well I think another delayed trade has gone through. You can now buy for 7.23p. I think the 6.88p trade this morning was most likely a buy too. Although there is a 7.1p buy on iSDX for 8000 shares. I really doubt that would of shifted the market to 7.5p ask. Albeit possible.

It's the largest single non director trade that is a buy in last 2-3 years causing the stock to rise 5-6%. I would say that is a big deal.

That being said who is to say this is not same buyer from last few months who has been lapping up the shares as they have been sold? So 38k here may seem very little to you but in the grand scheme of things this buyer could of spent 100-300k+ on Porta. You need to look at the bigger picture here.

As investors we need to at times focus on some good news. This share will need some solid new II to take Porta forward.

Non Executive Director?? Unlikely. Why not buy at 6p a few weeks back? I still think NED would be locked out here. My guess is PI or II.
