From 1982 until 31 March 2005 Mr Adeane, aged 73, was Managing Director of Antofagasta, the FTSE-100 listed Chilean copper mining Company. He is now a Non-Executive Director of Antofagasta plc. He has been a Director of several mining companies including Axmin Inc, a TSX listed mineral exploration company with a focus on gold prospective properties across central and west Africa.
