Theatrical release of fourth film

Chennai, 16 February 2012. Photon Kathaas Productions Ltd. (AIM: PKP, "Photon Kathaas", "the Company"), the South Indian film company, has announced that its latest film "Ekk Deewana Tha" (There Was a Passionate Lover) will be make its international theatrical release on 17 February 2012.

Directed by PKP's Chief Creative Officer Gautham Vasudev Menon, Ekk Deewana Tha is the studio's fourth film and is a Hindi remake of his original Tamil-language blockbuster "Vinnai Thandi Varuvaaya" which was also remade in Telugu as Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010.

The film features British model and actress Amy Jackson, making her Bollywood debut, and seven songs provided by A.R. Rahman, one of which, "Hosanna" is currently no 1 in the Indian radio charts.

The film has been produced in conjunction with Fox Star Studios (a joint venture between Twentieth Century Fox and Satellite Television Asia Region) and RS Infotainment PVT Ltd.

Venkat Somasundaram, CEO, PKP said

"Ekk Deewana Tha is our largest project to date and takes us from our heartland of South Indian cinema into the huge North Indian Hindi-speaking market of Bollywood films. It is clear example of our stated objective of leveraging our content across languages and geographies.

"We are very excited about the prospects for this film. It has all the key ingredients for success in Indian cinema; a classic love story with a fantastic soundtrack, plus the backing of a major partner such as Fox Star Studio's behind it.

"There is a strong buzz of anticipation in advance of the film's release, which has been timed to coincide with the appetite for romance around Valentine's day."
