16/9/2008 16:40 | donaf. The shares are described as belonging to Dr.West's family trust, so presumably the mortgage is for the benefit of that trust - else the trustees would be well out of order. My 'pawnbroker' description was just meant as humorous. My only point is that somebody seems to think the stocks have a long term future other than as decorative paper. | ladybird1
16/9/2008 16:16 | Why did the mortgagee receive papers from the solicitors of Phosphagenics - is it the company who is borrowing 3.76m against the security of the West Family Trust shares - or is it the beneficiaries of the trust who need the money? Curious, having just been discussing the company's solvency. Not a pawnbroker, just a lender who wants security. Who are AlphaPET - did they get bought by Phosphagenics? Is this to secure a loan in payment of the purchase, or am I off the track completely? | donaferentes
16/9/2008 15:44 | donaf. - not a lot to be added to what you say. Sums it uo succinctly. Doesn't add anything positive, but the last capital raising was probably providential, the way capital markets are now. could have been very awkward if the cash position had become cricical early 2009. Ref. hopeless's link, at least somebody (pawnbroker?) thinks they're worth making a loan against. | ladybird1
16/9/2008 15:00 | Agreed, bottom drawer - sad thing is, this could be SO big. It's hard to imagine them ever being in a decent cash position until they begin to generate - an expensive business. Interesting that you should comment on the unintelligibility of the Ozzie accounts, I've always found their holdings RNSs to be ridiculously complicated and ambiguous. | spaceparallax
16/9/2008 12:17 | Let's hope that one of our more advanced products can come thru soon - we need to secure decent cashflow. | spaceparallax
02/9/2008 11:54 | The world renown BioWorld Diabetes Report 2008 lists Phosphagenics' TPM/Insulin among its "Top Diabetes Drugs in Development to Watch" So keep these safe in your bottom drawer for now. | lgw
25/7/2008 10:31 | Received and read the newsletter yesterday. As with many of my stocks, the journey to the pot of gold is long and winding. Looking at their 'product pipeline' does however offer some encouragement - with several of the products we're on the final leg. Hopefully, we can get there without too much further dilution. | spaceparallax
21/7/2008 10:00 | Worth glancing through the July newsletter. Reports delays in the main current programs which put any results back into 2009. Brings the need for the share issue into clearer focus. | ladybird1
08/7/2008 11:45 | Agree with donaf I put this into a Sipp last year so well down, but not fussed terribly because I have another 15yrs before cashing in, will add on the dips also but maybe not this month! Everything seems to be going into place here, I think parts or all of PSG will eventually be taken over as the potential product potential is superb, and getting closer to fruition. Re Michael Ashton, is he well respected? I know he is well known but what is his previous form, it would seem too fortuitous for tiny little PSG to have such a high profile businessman as a director! | lgw
11/6/2008 09:19 | gavapentin not sure research would hav eput you off this company. it seems to have a magic touch of achieving all its targets. just pharma r&d takes a few years during which most of us wold wish for a bit more action on our money. if you do the research and decide its a good venture, then I guess this is a buying opportunity. i've been in 3 years or so in a small way and have just put the shares in a bottom draw. no advice intended. | donaferentes
11/6/2008 08:54 | i hope so outsize this has been my worst investment to date rule 1 of trading - never trust other peoples tips without doing the relevant research! | gavapentin
10/6/2008 09:46 | Bought 50k Phosphagenics @ 6.5p this morning. This was an order I had in for last Friday & then over the weekend, and my broker hadn't cancelled it. Thing is that I should have been able to buy them for 6p or less looking at the price they are trading at in Oz. Still, I'm feeling happy enough, that with funding now in place till end 2009, that there will be enough developments to take the shareprice well into double figures again. | outsizeclothes.com
26/5/2008 16:05 | Just so, gentlemen. But down another 7% odd last night on good volume. Mr.Rosen's statement I think makes it clear why. Rather wildly bullish talk about the prospects, how easily money was raised and how big pharma is queuing up for partnership in the same breath as how difficult it might be raising funds if they don't do it now. There has obviously been keen local criticism of the fund raising and undoubtedly the company's credibility has taken a beating. I hope, as do we all, that one of the products makes it and fulfils Mr.Rosen's view this will multiply the share price, but for the present the fundraising has done nothing for credibility. I also wonder why Mr.Preston decided to leave so suddenly. No explanation given that I can find. | ladybird1
23/5/2008 10:49 | Gava, I think everyone's down, but as Dona says, the business hasn't put a foot wrong. They continue to tick off the milestones on the research and provenance timeline - I'm confident that we'll be handsomely rewarded sometime in the future. | spaceparallax
22/5/2008 22:47 | Orbis appear to still like the odds, and they are one of the best long term value players... | rambutan2
22/5/2008 21:44 | The business has not changed. Every step they take is positive and their research and testing has been faultless - it's what a pharma does at this stage and needs money to fund it. If one out of five serious products in development comes good it will make us a lot of money. But it will take another 1-3 years to bring it successfully to market. | donaferentes
22/5/2008 17:58 | this has lost me buckets - very disappointed | gavapentin
22/5/2008 14:42 | A big name in the mobile phone industry - can't remember which, possibly Orange. | spaceparallax
22/5/2008 13:18 | Who is he? | donaferentes
22/5/2008 12:19 | I hadn't realised that Hans Snook had such a significant holding. | spaceparallax
20/5/2008 11:37 | 2 way trading in Oz at way below UK spread, yet I'm being turned away at .5p above the Oz offer. | outsizeclothes.com
19/5/2008 08:21 | Down again at 13-13.5 cents. At least the volume selling is petering out. | ladybird1 |
