PGI Group Plc


PGI Group Plc announces the appointment of Steven Wayne as Group Chief Executive
with effect from 4th July 2005. He replaces Richard Clothier, who is retiring as
Chief Executive having reached 60. Mr Clothier will remain a director,
responsible for the Tropical Agriculture activities and Chillington
Manufacturing, until January 2006, when he will stand down from the Board.

Mr Wayne (40) came to the Group with the acquisition of Jensen, the property and
fund management group that he founded. He was appointed a Director of PGI in
April 2005. He is an American and has a MBA from Harvard University.

PGI also announces the appointment of Charles Ryan as Non-executive director. 
Mr Ryan is Chairman and Chief Executive of United Financial Group of Moscow.

Appendix:

Charles Ryan does not hold nor has held directorships in any listed companies 
within the past five years.

There are no other matters that require announcement with regard to this 
appointment as detailed under paragraphs 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.

Charles Ryan does not presently hold any shares in PGI Group Plc beneficially 
or otherwise.
