10/5/2013 05:55 | More Clients/Partners ... Another potential project in the pipeline. Velocys is listed as a technology partner. BH -------------------- SacPort BioFuels will initially be a small waste gasification demonstration project in Sacramento, California showing how locally-generated, non-recyclable waste can be converted into locally-made, renewable fuel. It is our hope through the support of project partners and local communities that SacPort BioFuels will be able to expand into a one-of-a-kind gasification facility demonstrating the wide-range of renewable and high-value products that can be converted from waste, such as electricity, hydrogen, ethanol, and more. SacPort BioFuels, an affiliate of Sierra Energy, sees a need for alternative ways of approaching and thinking about waste disposal. Landfills, the conventional method, are both harmful to the environment and an inefficient use of our nation's trash. Waste contains molecules that can be broken down and then reformed to create fuel, electricity, and more. -------------------- Velocys develops chemical hardware systems to solve the most daunting processing challenges of the chemical and energy industries. In 2008, Velocys became part of Oxford Catalysts Group, which designs and develops specialty catalysts for the generation of clean fuels from biomass and waste sources. Velocys develops microchannel-based technology that improves performance and significantly reduces costs for chemical operations, including FT renewable diesel production. Velocys has partnership agreements in place with Toyo Engineering, MODEC, SGC Energia, Petrobras, and PTT. Collectively, these companies have invested over $85 million over the last four years to jointly develop and demonstrate Velocys's microchannel fuel technologies. For this project, Velocys will provide its microchannel FT technology, product optimization, and quality control. | ![]() gac141 | |

09/5/2013 14:48 | US Lubricant Additives Market By Reportlinker Published: Wednesday, May. 8, 2013 - 1:49 pm NEW YORK, May 8, 2013 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Reportlinker.com announces that a new market research report is available in its catalogue: US Lubricant Additives Market US demand to reach 2.5 billion pounds in 2017 Demand for lubricant additives in the US is expected to increase to 2.4 billion pounds in 2017, valued at $3.8 billion, with growth resulting from rebounding lubricant production and modestly rising additive treat rates. Additives such as antioxidants and friction modifiers, which are capable of providing longer lubricant service life or fuel efficiency benefits, will see the strongest demand growth, while those such as antiwear and extreme pressure additives containing potentially undesirable chemistries will experience below average advances. OEM specifications for lubricant performance will continue to drive changes in formulations, with particular focus on lubricants' contribution to meeting fuel economy and emissions regulations leading to increased demands placed on related lubricant characteristics.
