                        Ovum shares commence trading on
                          AIM following successful IPO
                                        

Ovum plc ("Ovum" or the "Company") (OVM.L), the leading provider of research,
advisory and consulting services on and to the global Information, Communication
and Technology (ICT) sectors, today sees its shares commence trading on AIM
following the successful institutional share placing of #10.2 million, of which
#7 million is new money (before expenses) for the Company to facilitate its
strategy of growth through new product development and acquisition.

On Admission, Ovum will have 12,099,710 shares in issue, giving it a market
capitalisation of approximately #23 million at the placing price of 190 pence
per share.

Bridgewell Securities Limited is acting as Nominated Adviser and stockbroker to
Ovum.
