Autumn/Winter 1998/9 Trading Statement
Oasis Stores Plc today announces its sales performance for the 25 week period
to 23rd January 1999.
Despite a disappointing December, during which full price sales were impacted
by widespread discounting among other fashion retailers in the run up to
Christmas, total sales for the period were up by 21% and like-for-like sales
increased by 11% against the same period last year.
The end of season sale, which commenced after Christmas, has progressed well
and the company will enter the new season with a clean stock position.
Oasis will announce its preliminary results for the year to January 1999 on
7th April 1999.
