OASIS STORES PLC (the "Company")

The Company was today notified by Mercury Asset Management Ltd ("MAM") that
there has been a change of circumstances affecting the interests which MAM has
in the share capital of the Company which have previously been disclosed
(under ss. 198-202 of The Companies Act 1985).

The total interest held by MAM is now 5,790,000 shares, representing 11.03% of
the issued share capital of the Company.
