It is interesting that the decks are now virtually cleared ready for a change of ownership. The piece in the jigsaw I am waiting for is to see whether the new investor will reverse a new business into Oak, or just look to make the existing business work.

Well they're still going, and I think we will have important good news within a few weeks. Glad I hung on now although on a fair percentage loss. All the best ghbg and any other investors.

I hope your faith is justified. I hold quite a few of these and keep hoping for some good news, but I do fear a massive dilution from a new investor buying into the company. I would much prefer a new start which imo would also be better for the share price.

Well the lock in ended on 31/12/10, looks like those investors are not selling.

The Board of Oak Holdings PLC announces that Michael Hill has resigned as a
director with immediate effect.

It always worries me when they say 'with immediate effect'. It implies a sudden exposure of new information, did he jump or was he pushed, and either way, why?

The Board also announces that Mike Williams, Founder Director of CDC, will
oversee the financial function of the group with immediate effect

Googling Mike Williams and CDC yields "CDC, the intelligent buildings experts", "Mike Williams, Managing Director and Founder of CDC, the Intelligent Buildings people, has been named as one of RealComm's 'Top 35 People to Watch in 2008'." Hmmm, this is 2009.

It looks like CDC were invited awhile ago (2nd May) ( ) - shame Oak didn't see fit to put out an RNS.

Either way, it hasn't stirred the share price - though it could have been people in the know pushing the price up late April - once again the simple individual investor is treated like a mushroom.

As always long suffering private investors will be diluted out of existence.
Thanks a bunch.
Then if Rotherham Council and the other Councils, Sheffield etc hadn't spent
so long navel gazing, this project would have got under way years ago, before the credit crunch.

In keeping with the leisure and entertainment concept these shares are likely to be a white knuckle ride for investors. Starting out on a £300m+ project with nothing in the piggy bank is the ultimate high risk experience. Overspend by just 1.5% and the NAV is wiped out, underspend by the same amount and it doubles. Having lost most of their original investment long term holders are likely to hang on making sure there is stock shortage. But newcomers could be tempted to bail out resulting in sharp share price reversals.

KKringe - I don't think so. On small deals the arithmetic does not work out - only makes the brokers richer. No one can beat the bookie. With good judgement the long term investor wins the day and keeps his nerve. If you prefer an outright gamble why not use the spread betting system - you don't need stock just put your money where your mouth is.

slowly slowly catchee monkee! Give OAK two years then all you penny investors could make a killing. What concerns me is the country's economy but that ought not prevent investing in a major project which will create jobs and enhance the economy of Rotherham and district. By 2012 when the Olympics come to Britain this development should be fully on stream and those investors will benefit accordingly. Don't keep looking into the crystal ball keep to facts and back the TEAM at Oak. Petty sellers can do us all a good turn by investing elsewhere. What an exciting scheme we are all supporting and lets enjoy the ride. Date of arrival: 2012

Like most microcaps, there is no market in this one and macro factors - including a current smallcap buyers' strike - suggest that things are not likely to improve any time soon. Long term supporters of Oak may as well accept that what looked like a long haul two years ago now feels more like an eternity. Nor are things helped by current developments in UK commercial property where things are beginning to look a bit like 1988-9: whatever now happens with Oak in terms of development agreements and so on speculative property plays are likely to be at a major discount given the broader market backdrop. If only one could go to sleep for three years and wake up when it's all over - perhaps Oak will then be trading above my cost at last. The last straw here was that inexcusable consolidation where the Company accepted the usual inept broker's advice rather than the views of long term investors.
