Amazing morning, bringing the Bruciefolio almost back to Breakeven on Ytd. Though I suspect the rest of you will be racing off ahead.
Let's see what the close of play brings; let alone tomorrow as the EoW.
Currently up +1.6% with HIX +1.8%; and IUKD and all-share at +/-1.5%.
That'll do.
Yesterday took some SDY; and this morning a full position in FGEN. Hoping very much that infrastructure REITS will have some early spring sunshine after this morning's action on interest rates and the takeover of BBGI. Seems to me there are some crazy undervaluations among them, but wdoik.
Bruciefolio currently yielding 10.3% - at least on my spreadsheet!

Cadbury's gets a high profile in this, too, just for good measure:

I just avoid buying anything with their name on now. All the promises at the takeover seem to have been broken. Let somebody else in the UK, with healthier and tastier chocolate products, have your business. (I'm avoiding Lint, too. Some of their chocolates taste cr*p after taking up palm.)

The very cold week had retail sales footfall at -2.8% on the year before. I commented how little traffic there was but I then also noted low traffic since and we now see that the following week's footfall did not bounce back as expected but actually fell more, at -3.3% compared to the previous year. Can online sales rescue the situation?
Also, Prof Costas Milas suggests weaker news means leaving the next interest rate cut until February, instead if this week, might be leaving it too late.

-0.34% this week - need that DLG takeover to be 100% confirmed for my final boost before year end.
YTD is now +6.5%
Good weekend all! Been grey and horrible pretty much all week and drizzle for a good 24hrs or so - roll on spring!

Brucie5 -
I do like dividends but don't chase the biggest ones.
I'd prefer growth tbh (or takeover targets, I've had a few (dairy crest, greene king, horizon discovery, SNR but rejected and DLG currently in play) but given standings you can see I struggle with that! I think I sit somewhere in the middle.
This week with DLG takeover talk is a great week though.
Hold AV. BERI BOOT BRWM CRL DLG. HFEL IPU LLOY MIDD PSN S32 SNR TRIG
I do hold funds too - some listed below:
Artemis high income quarterly
Baillie gifford global income growth
CT European smaller companies
Fidelity Emerging markets
Rathbone global opportunities
Royal london sterling extra yield
Royal london corporate bond
Sarasin food and agriculture
I don't like AIM having been burnt too many times.

4/7 for me. Big fall in VLX is going to cost me today. Results and a potential takeover of TT not going down well. Down 0.6% on that alone.

Aleman - it was me asking about 'takeover' threads.. thanks ðŸâ￾

Is there a thread for what folk might think of as 'takeover' targets?

Decent enough day, up 0.5%
MEGP/VLX accounting for half the total rise, only worthwhile loser was CREI and most of that was it going xd.
Another former holding N.Brown taken out with a decent premium. Had to check my records but this was one that I was right to sell as even with the takeover its lower than I got for them. A rare correct trade.

Takeover rumours assisting TATE this afternoon! Bought a few back in 2015 and nearly sold them a couple of times but they went across to the Drawdown account back in 2019 and have sat there since with divis reinvested. If I had more, I'd be selling half now!
