I am afraid the website is not really kept up to date in a way that the shareholders who held on actually deserve. The investor section has been rather like tumbleweed for the last 18 months.

The Agm this year will be on the 19th June at Royal Holloway in Egham as it was last year. Maybe we should make the effort to attend. The accounts should be out in the next few weeks.

Thanks Wilmdav that was excellent and proof that in a good well run company delisting can be a good option and not something investors should fear.

looks like the acquisition has spooked some investors?

Well considering there are only 3 private investors in the UK that hold this share! Anyway the results have been good but I think the undervalued property assets have helped as well. Ive noticed several similar companies backed with property (eg. API) being re-rated.

somebody mopped up all those shares and is still after more because the buy hasn't shown through yet. It can't be a private investor after that many HNN, so it must be either a manager(but I think they are in the closed period) so it must be a shrewdy or a competitor ?

Who really knows until the news release.

I probably ought to - but in fact don't - have a 'feel' for property shares and what I don't understand, I tend not to invest in.

Besides - in the main - I like growth stocks interspersed with 'special situations' such as HNN.

When the market bottoms out, I'm looking to get back into Small Cap and AIM stocks that even now are making good profits and pay decent dividends.

But for the time being I'm liquid because I feel that this market could drag the good down with the bad - all the way back to 3,500 on the Footsie.

Why?

Most bear - proper bear - markets (which we haven't had for over 25 years) retrace the bull run back 50%, sometimes more.

The Footsie peaked at about 6,900, so half of that is 3,500!

Not enough punters - not serious investors - have got their fingers badly burned. Only when they perceive - wrongly - that they could lose all their money, will they start to dump their shares.

And as I said the other day, that will be the precise moment to re enter the market.

It might be next week, next month or next year - but whenever it is, I'll be waiting.

I hear what you say, but what if we're some way off the bottom?

There are still loads of gamblers - rather than investors - out there who are just hoping their shares to recover.

Personally, I don't believe this bear market will end until those gamblers think that they'll lose their shirts if they don't sell.

When that moment comes, then will be the time to buy. Until then I, intend to stay very liquid.

In the meantime, I'll look into the commercial propperty market, as you suggest.

I bought into this stock at 21.5p yesterday. Took advantage of the (obvious sale of 10K @ 21p. This transaction was delayed while the mm's dropped the price by 1.5p. My buy shifted the price up a 1p. There is obviously not much stock about when small transactions have such a big effect on the market.

I've been tracking this stock for several weeks. E-mailed the company for a copy of their Annual Report which was delivered the next working day. (signs of an efficient admin!) I wanted to check the pension arrangements. I tend to avoid companies which have defined benefit schemes because of the potential for large shortfalls in the near future. Fortunately, contributions for such schemes ceased from 1993 and they are in the process of being wound up with a view to establishing surplus/liability. I'm not 100% certain that there will not be a liability but the wording of the report suggests that the bulk of the pensions are of the defined contribution type.

On reading the report I was also impressed by the responsible attitude of senior management with regard to share options. IMO the options are priced at a sensible level which should provide good incentives/rewards without the greed which is typical of so many companies which reward directors for mediocrity and failure while stuffing the private investor. Dana is a share in point but it applies to so many companies thesedays - large & small.

Time will tell whether or not this is a good investment. Engineering company shares will obviously suffer in a prolonged downturn. I just hope that it can keep its head above water until the arrival of better times.

Time will tell if the info we were given was right or not! After all many investors (myself included!) often look for the reasons why something is happening when often there is nothing to the anomaly! It could be just coincidence - I hope not in this case!

Today is very quiet so far although some of the previous bigger buys have taken place in the afternoon. I will keep checking to see if that happens today. If I were a big buyer seeing todays volumes I would wait to see if the MMs drop the price to stimulate demand and then buy in at a lower figure.

Unfortunately this is a tiny company who most won't have heard of so small investor interest at this stage is unlikely to happen in large volumes to help drive up the price.
Hold on!
