RNS Number:4343D Nikanor Plc 06 September 2007 6 September 2007 NIKANOR - NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST Nikanor plc ("Nikanor") received notifications from Glencore International AG ("Glencore"), Cosaf Limited ("Cosaf") and Ruwenzori Limited ("Ruwenzori") on 4 September 2007 that on 31 August 2007 Ruwenzori exercised its option to acquire from Glencore 25,000,000 ordinary shares ("the Ruwenzori shares") in Nikanor. Ruwenzori became the registered holder of the Ruwenzori shares on 3 September 2007. Glencore remains interested in the Ruwenzori shares. Ruwenzori is an entity registered in the Cayman Islands and is indirectly managed by RP Capital Limited ("RPC"). This transfer is in line with that set out in the announcement of 1 June 2007 when Glencore acquired the Ruwenzori shares on Ruwenzori's behalf in Nikanor's share placing. Also on 31 August 2007, Cosaf became interested in 945,713 ordinary shares transferred to it by RP Explorer Master Fund, an entity managed by RPC. Following the above transactions, Glencore's interest in Nikanor (apart from the interest it retains in the Ruwenzori shares) is now 28,225,224 shares representing 13.67% of Nikanor's issued share capital. Entities managed by RPC are interested in, aggregate, 48,695,713 shares (23.58%), including 22,750,000 (11.01%) held by New Horizon Minerals Limited ("New Horizon", a wholly owned subsidiary of Cosaf), 945,713 (0.46%) held directly by Cosaf, and 25,000,000 (12.10%) held by Ruwenzori. Inasmuch as it concerns Glencore, the notification was given on behalf of Glencore Finance (Bermuda) Ltd, Glencore International AG and each intermediate holding company between Glencore International AG and Glencore Finance (Bermuda) Ltd, and the term "Glencore" means each of them.
