we may see who has taken the other side of the trade if they are big enough. but it appears there is a material overhang.

Two Institutional holders reduced RNS's. Could be in a bear phase again with the absence of any corporate updates.

So last day today before final ex-divi tomorrow hence today's rise.

The market size on LSE is 30,000 shares, I bought 20,000 ... anyone giving much weight to the market size when purchasing? I thought position size was significant here due to risks (penny stock, lack of coverage, supplier concentration etc).

For info, just a reminder -
In respect of the final dividend, the board of directors has approved an ex-dividend date of 19 May 2016 and a record date of 20 May 2016. In respect of the special dividend, the board of directors has approved an ex-dividend date of 31 May 2016 and a record date of 27 May 2016. Both dividends, if approved, will be paid on 9 June 2016.

Thanks oregano, good to hear the view of someone who attended the AGM. I hope your latest purchase does well.

I attended the AGM. Quite interesting, and nice to get a tour of the facilities.

I can see why it is cheap - it is entirely dependant on ITV and Ch5 for the late night slots. whilst those contracts have been renewed, there is still a big supplier concentration.

That aside, they are doing well and it is demonstrably cheap. I was impressed with the CEO. he knows his stuff.

Acquisitions are clearly hard to come by given the lowly valuation, so I wonder if the specials might become regular.

I bought some more.

Mine were buys too. I've nearly doubled my position in Netplay since they announced the year end financials. I think the acquisition is helping cut marketing spend as well as driving new customers while bringing in a profit as well. I'm looking for an improvement in 2016 from the decent 2015 numbers. I'm not sure why the drop off recently but I picked up some more at 9.6 the other day. I'm looking for 13p by year end! GLTA

What a drag this is turning out to be. Why the selling? I don't get it.

It is very simple imho, the special dividend is worth about 7% of the total market cap of the company and is a one off.In order to preserve the share price history and to enable meaningful comparison over time the number of shares is being reduced by the same (almost) amount i.e. 7%By doing it this way the share price should not react any differently to a normal dividend payment.

The share consolidation seems pointless it will:
Cost the company money to do, although their advisers will profit for the paper shuffling.
The share price will probably be unchanged after such a minor consolidation. After all most people won't notice, so it will negate the benefit of the 0.68p special dividend.
A 1 for 10 consolidation would of been more useful to get rid of the penny share stigma.

Henderson selling down their holding, it was only a couple of weeks ago they were buying.

I don't know how Henderson makes any money, I've seen this action with them before in other shares...Whether its something to do with new tax year i don't know..

This has taken me by surprise. Whole lot work to be busy and no real difference to penny status. All I can see is the bigger boys want some cash out.

That's true zip but at the expense of a reduced cash position on the balance sheet. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. It's not a very imaginative use of funds, investing in the business would have been preferable. You've got to speculate to accumulate.

It is simply to avoid the penny dreadful stigma. Makes sense IMO.
