16/8/2010 11:17 | Finding it difficult to sell these through computershare (in wifes name) any ideas? | killieboy
13/8/2010 15:05 | I thought Schroders held 29.05% rather than the 25.648% as per the RNS today??? | kimball808
13/8/2010 14:06 | Tipped in Moneyweek today... "Our final pick, Nestor Healthcare (LSE: NSR) provides a range of staffing and managed services to both health and social care markets in the UK. Around 70% of revenue comes from social care and the remaining 30% from primary care. Social care encompasses non-medical services offered to care for the ill, elderly or disabled in their homes. The aim is to allow them to live free of institutionalisation where possible. The primary-care division is mainly involved in providing out-of-hours services say if a medical emergency occurs outside of normal GP hours. 90%+ of revenue comes from local authorities and the NHS. However, the risks linked to spending cuts are slim, given the comparatively high cost to the government of pulling these contracts. Furthermore , the main growth driver an ageing UK population is not about to go away." | pstubbs50
12/8/2010 07:59 | why cant they get the bloody figure right at least: | ghurah
12/8/2010 07:44 | known I know, but expanding a bit on the bid... | kimball808
11/8/2010 17:03 | GhuRah - yes - I was just pointing out that was my opinion as there must be the odd lunatic who does. But looking at the trades today and the lack of a retreat in the price and the fact the bidders never said that was it or that they wouldn't raise their bid price then that means a higher bid to come imo and possibly other bidders to enter the battle. Interesting times :-) CR | cockneyrebel
11/8/2010 15:08 | Wow, just got back from having my ears blown off watching Toy story 3. I'm sure cinemas never used to be that loud, Lol, but then again the last time I went, you could smoke in cinema's... to find us up here...looking good and looking like we are in play now...Shame had a chance to buy more this am just before they went to 500 limit only, only to pass up...:-) another good company that has had close to 6% drop today and I'm sure will make another crack at £4 again soon is Dialight (DIA), especially if you can get off the book, well worth having a look at its stats..sorry off topic... | kimball808
11/8/2010 13:32 | I suppose what I meant to say was "you can't offer £5 for what is obviously a £10 note!" | nellie1973
11/8/2010 13:19 | CR remove imo after "You never go into a bid offering your best price straight away..." you never give your best price at the beginning...FULL STOP! | ghurah
11/8/2010 13:12 | Don't think so Nellie - it's what they don' say. In that statement they haven't said the bid is off, they haven't refused to pay more either. You never go into a bid offering your best price straight away imo. So I reckon Acromas will be back but I also reckon any other bidder won't want NSR stolen from under their nose at 90p either and we'll see more interest imo. CR | cockneyrebel
11/8/2010 13:01 | It doesnt sound like they are going to cough up any more for Nestor, it's an opportunistic bid to say the least. Far far far too cheap... | nellie1973
11/8/2010 12:37 | 'materially' to me means at least 20% so materially undervalues the co means NSR place a bare minimum of 110p or so on the value of the co imo. 120p would be the least they take imo. But personally the way this sector is in play and the way bids have been going I reckon all this has done is alert any other bidders that had their eye on NSR to get in quick or miss out imo. My guess is another RNS with in a week or two - well worth the wait imo. Perhaps any bidder will try to get it through before the divi goes xd in early Sep and avoid paying that out at least. CR | cockneyrebel
11/8/2010 10:26 | I think 150p would be a starting point...... Several medical services providers have been taken out recently. Cracking fun to be had in the next few weeks. | nellie1973
11/8/2010 10:18 | As I said above - worth 12p+ imo. 'materially undervalues the company' they say and I'd agree with that. 120p+ for a bid to be accepted imo. These were trading @ 190p in 07 and had earnings of less than 6p. Earnings this year will be a lot higher, the divi will be higher and the assets are increasing in value. I think 120p bid would be a steal but I'd take it. I think a bid higher than 120p might be requierd to get NSR tho. This sector has been in play recently wih several bids - won't be surpised to see a bidding war develop here imo. CR | cockneyrebel
11/8/2010 10:18 | Considering the previous take over in this sector ( i only have a few of these ) what is the going rate for Nestor? Thanks | the heed
11/8/2010 10:11 | Just as we thought eh...well hopefully clearly in play now. | gswredland
11/8/2010 10:10 | LoL woosh | moreforus
11/8/2010 10:09 | 90p offer refused.. good on them.. £1.50 please! | the heed
11/8/2010 09:12 | well thats my trading psyche to kimbal and gargoyle, nice to know we're picking fundamentally sound companies and not penny shares! | ghurah
11/8/2010 09:10 | GhuRah, you just picked out three of my favourites too.. I prefer the great minds theory as well! | gargoyle2
11/8/2010 09:05 | Lol...I hope its the former.. I like to eliminate as much risk as possible..so I try to invest in great fundamentals with a bullish statements and forecasts..learnt my lesson many a time on high riskers with weak balance sheets...:-) | kimball808
11/8/2010 08:58 | kimball, you seem to be in some of the same companies im in, NSR, VELO, TRI. great minds think alike or fools seldomn differ...we will find out soon! | ghurah
11/8/2010 08:50 | 100p bid would be disappointing imo - I think these are well worth 120p a share with the current recovery in place imo. Been some good old volume here too - bid has cred imo. CR | cockneyrebel |
